nail color?

I am going out tonight to an event at a club tonight and I decided to get my nails done. its NOT a dressy event. normally if I get my nails done, I go french, but would like something different. any ideas?

I vaguely remember a thread where someone asked a nail color question and someone responded with a picture of this really pretty grey color that seemed unusual, but less harsh than black, and I'm somewhat intrigued by it...but can't find the thread.

any other colors that could be kind of hip/fun? (this coming from a 41 year old mom who isn't hip, but would like to pretend she kind of is for the night)

Darker browns and grays are the trend right now.

The color I have by OPI is called "You don't know Jacques" which looks gray in the bottle but comes out more taupe on the nails.

OPI also has a few espresso & chocolate shades.

also...I am blonde/fair...will it look too dark on me? am quite likely wearing black (but trying desperately to not look too dressy)

Funnily, it's the same color that I mentioned I own in my post.
Since it's taupe it will probably look nice with black.

I also like a color called "Moon over Mumbai" which is a milky gray. That would also look nice when wearing black.
