My Dh and I would like to try either one of these restaurants but wonder if they are suitable for families.

The one thing I enjoy so much when visiting Disney is the family atmosphere during lunch/dinner and not having to keep your children silent, which with four under six is impossible and hey they are on holiday too

I understand having read a number of threads that Nacrossee's is very romantic:love:

Is flying fish also, if so I think we'll go to Chef Mickey instead::MickeyMo

Our kids have been to both and been fine :) I would just suggest dining early in the evening with kids. I enjoyed the food at both and the view at Narcoossee's was great even though it wasn't Wishes time. I would choose either over Chef Mickey's which we didn't enjoy at all.

How old are the kids in question?

How likely are they to sit for two hours and let you enjoy your meal?

We've brought our kids to both restaurants - felt out of place at Flying Fish last time only because we had friends with us and THEIR kids were not used to finer dining (their MOTHER was not used to it - just having her there was an embarrassment). Had I really recognized who we were traveling with, I wouldn't have bothered with signature places. But my kids are pretty good in "fancy" restaurants.

I, myself, would not take a toddler to either restaurant as I don't enjoying paying that kind of money for a meal I can't enjoy. But my youngest was five the first time we ate at Narcoosees and six the first time we ate at FF.

Thanks Bubblefactory :thanks:

Do they do a seperate Childrens menu and were there other children about when you dined at these restaurants.

Also on a seperate note which did you prefer. I only have space for one for ADR!!

Thank you so much

You're welcome, both restaurants have kids menus and there were plenty of other families with kids at both when we ate around 7 - 7.30pm.

Tough choice which to pick, the lobster or surf and turf at Narcoose's or the snapper at Flying Fish are all TDF :) The visit that sticks in my mind though is when we all enjoyed sitting at the 'bar' in front of the chef at FF watching the action in the kitchen with Bill recommending wines and looking after us :)

Thank Crisi

Our Children will be DS7, DS6, DS3 and DD2, and I fully appreciate your comments regarding been in the company of fellow fine diners, or not as your case may have been.

Our children are most well behaved, and are used to dining in signature places, I find DS Lites come in most useful at times like this.

I'm just not one for putting my children in creche facilites etc, as strange as it may seem I do thoroughly enjoy their company.

I'd be booking an early ADR anyway so I think I'll just do it.

Many thanks for your comments.

We took my 5 year old DD to Narcosees last year for an early ADR and had a very nice dinner. The waiter was really good with kids and very accomodating. My DD couldn't decide between the filet and the mac and cheese and he said that it was no problem for her to get some of both. We haven't tried the Flying Fish yet, I'm debating between that or Jikos for this years fine dining experience.

I can vouch for Narcoossee's we had a 5 turning 6yo with us and he loved it. There were plenty of young ones there during our meal. Narcoossee's probably has as an edge over the others:
- deck right outside, ie. a timeout zone if needed (for you or them :lmao: )
- view of the Electric Water parade around 9pm, watch from your seat or the deck
- view of Wishes, best from the deck and music is piped into the restaurant

My nephew loved his pasta and we shared his banana split. By far our best meal of the trip. My nephew loved Chef Mickey's, as did I so if you can do both you won't regret either (we did CM late breakfast as a brunch).
Have a great time.

We took the MK bus from our resort then took the boat launch over to the Grand Floridian. It was a really nice "bonus ride".

We are taking our 1 and 4 yr old to jiko, i am a bit worried, becuase you never know how they will be. Jiko seemed to have a nice kids menu for my 4 yr old. Our 13 month, who knows how he will be. Right now at 11 months he is good out. We are going to try to get the earliest reservation. I was mainly concerened that other diners will be bothered if my kids act up, but since we are going early, I hope it will work out. I didnt feel comfortable getting an inroom babysitter. I know my 4 yr old may be get bored after awhile, but we are pretty good about ordering fast. We just want a nice meal since we are on the disney deluxe plan.
