Can someone give me a brief overview of the magic your way package with dining. We are traveling with my mother and the 2 kids - 8 and 10. We are going the end of Jan and it is only 300.00 more to add the dining, is this worth it. I have been reading up on it and am still somewhat confused, for example if we go to chef mickeys for dinner, does that count as 1 table service or 2? We are going for 7 days 6 nites, but since we are leaving really, really early on Sat, we only got a 6 day so we would only get meals until Fri, correct? Sorry if this sounds so trivial, however, I think the more I read into this the more confused I get:eek:

Any clarification/overview would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can't feed 4 people for 7 days/6 nights for $300!! Even if you do waste meals, you come out way ahead! The meals credits are by the night, so you will have 6 CS, 6 TS, and 6 snack per person per day. Dinner shows and sig dining are 2 TS, all other sit-down rest are 1 TS, including Chef Mickey's. When you start to plan your schedule, go ahead and decide which TS you will use, and which day. You can use more than 1 TS/day if necessary. (1 in the AM for Chef Mickey, and 1 in PM for a sit-down restaurant.) You can use the CS at your resort for quick breakfast, and again that day for lunch. With planning, you can use all of your meals... of course we will all know who you are... you'll be the ones waddling around Disney! :lmao: If you do try to use most/all of your meals, you will probably have a lot of snack credits to use before leaving. Many people purchase Mickey rice krispy squares and such to take home with them. You can also use them for drinks.

I have a list of all DDP restaurants that my travel agent sent me. She broke it down by location, characters, etc, and marked the ones that take 2 TS. If you want to PM me your email, I will be happy to forward it to you. Hope I helped!

Thanks karibritt01. I thought it was a good deal but just was not sure of exactly how it worked.

Would love to have the list that your TA sent you. We have our favorites we do all our visits to the world but may try something new this year.

If you can get Disney dining for 300$ for 6 nights - it's a steal!
I thought DDP was about 38$ per adult 10years and up and 11$ age 9 and under?
I worked the numbers for DDP for 10 days. It was something like $1270 for DH,me, DS10 and DS8. If I paid out of pocket for the the same meals we'd get under the plan it would cost me ~$1500+ I think DDP is definately worth it if you plan on eating within Disney!

I would say something doesn't add up. Not sure if the "we" make for 2 adults + mom or 1 adult + mom but either way, here are the numbers:
ages 3-9 $10.99 per night
ages 10 and up $38.99

so you have 3 adults + 1 child = $38.99 + $38.99 + $38.99 + $10.99 = $127.96

nightly cost x number of nights is $127.96 x 6 = $767.76

The plan is great and highly recommend it, just make sure you are paying what you think. If you want the complete dining plan guide just send me your email and I will send it off to you

Happy travels
Sandy

InstImpres - we have already paid in full for our package and I called today to see what it would cost to add the 'dining to our package" the number the CM quoted me was 352.. I know in my head the numbers don't add up and will probably get a different number when I call again.

The "we" is me, my mother and 2 kids. I should have clarified that the 10 year old does not turn 10 until the last day of our trip as I know this affects the cost.

When I go on the disney site and put in what we have, which is still what we paid (1976), and then add dining (2739) it is a difference of 736.00. I am on the fence at this point as to what we will do, will we eat more than 736. probably, will I be scrambling the last couple of days to try and eat up points, maybe, Need to play with our itineraries and reservations to see what will work best.

Thanks to everyone for their responses.
