Our family (2 Adults, 1 5yr. old, and 1 2yr. old) is going to WDW next June (2006) and we will be staying for 14 nights and visiting the parks for 10 days. We had decided that we wanted to purchase the 10 day MYW tickets and we figured out that the dining plan would be cheaper for us than paying separately for the meals, plus we like the idea of having everything prepaid and not having to worry about it. In order to get the AP discount for our hotel (AKL, Savannah view) I was considering purchasing the AP in addition to the MYW ticket that I will have. Is it possible for me to use the AP for park admission, not activate the MYW ticket that I purchase for me and either save it or sell it and still participate in the dining plan? Thanks for your help!

The Magic Your Way ticket that comes with packages does not require activation.

You will pay for your tickets up front, and whether or not you use it is up to you. AND, everybody on a package reservation has to have the same type of ticket.

What some folks have done is add a 1 day base ticket to their package reservation. From there, you could upgrade everybody's tickets but your own. (So your spouse and your 2 kids could upgrade to a 7 day park hopping ticket, and you would just leave yours as a 1 day base ticket)

Doing that will add $60 to your dining budget. (the cost of the 1 day base ticket that you would be out) However, that admission could be saved and upgraded at a later time as the ticket will never expire.
