A friend and I are going to WDW in September, just for a weekend eating/shopping trip. Our families are going together in February. Because we can get free dining in September, we're going with the package, which includes two park tickets (that we aren't using in Sept). We've called Disney twice, and gotten two different answers. In order for friend and her DH to use the tickets in February, do we need to buy No Expiration option, or not? First CM said no, tickets expire 14 days after activation (which we assume meant after the first time you used them to enter a park), therefore they wouldn't be activated during September trip. Second CM said we would have to purchase the option, because the ticket is "activated" once you arrive on property. Anyone know which is actually true?

DH, DS and I will have APs in February, so it's not an issue for us. But we are trying to work this out for DF's family. TIA!

I know that if you buy the tickets at Disney once you get there, then the tickets are activated the 1st time you go into the parks, and you have 14 days from the 1st time you use them to completely use them.

Now, with the package, I am not sure if that is the same (I know that is how it worked with the old Unlimited Magic Pass... but these tics are different), but would assume it would be, as biometrics seem to be what triggers the activation. If you are only getting 2 or 3 day tickets, it will only cost you $10.65 per ticket (that includes tax) to make them not expire, just in case they do start when you check in. I have a friend that works in Guest Relations and I will ask and post back as soon as I find out anything.

The expiration countdown on Magic Your Way tickets begins when you first USE the tickets - regardless of whether or not you're on a package.

As long as you don't use it, your ticket will work just fine for your February trip.

Enjoy! :)

Thanks, Stitch! DH and I were thinking it would probably be best to get the No Exp, just in case...but we were wondering why the two different answers from CMs?
