A friend is going to WDW and was told they can't do the MYW because they are splitting their stay between 2 deluxes. I'm thinking they would have to do LOS passes for the 2 separate hotels rather than the 8 day passes to qualify for the MYW for their entire trip, which would significantly increase their pass prices (or wouldn't it?). They used AAA to book their arrangements. Any ideas on what they could do to take advantage of MYW short of canceling their 2nd reservation? I read somewhere that you can buy a 1 day park pass (for their 2 resv.) and still qualify, but I think they would have to buy for the entire party (4 adults). TIA

You can book room only and purchase MYW for up to 10 days. That way they can stay at both hotels. The old LOS would have been a waste as they would be paying for one day two times. This allows more freedom to try different resorts.

Alice,

My understanding is that if you split the stay between 2 hotels, you could get a pass that covers the entire stay, but only dining for the first portion. The alternative is to split the passes, adding part to each ressie, and allowing dining through the whole stay. The reason is dining must be part of a package which includes room and passes. You are right that each member of the party would need to have the same passes on the package to qualify, and that since the passes get cheaper per day as the number of days increases, this would increase their pass cost. I know this punishes people who like to resort hop, which stinks, and I hope they will figure out a way to link reservations so that people can have dining for their full stay without paying a premium.

can purchase the package on both resorts but it would definitely cost your friend more. The longer you get your pass for the cheaper/day it works out to be. In order to have the package on both reservations he/she would have to have at least a one day pass for every member of the party on the second stay. We are staying at Disney in Nov. for a week and a half. I have unused 5 day park hopper passes for us. We planned on resting a couple days. I really wanted the package so I bought us just a one day base ticket for our entire reservation and added the dining. While I really hated to buy the one day base ticket, I really wanted the dining add on. The only other thing your friend can do is consider if it's really worth switching hotels. If not, than he/she may want to just stay at the one hotel and get everything he/she wants.
