We returned from Disney on 4/4 and had MYW plus dining. What a fantastic deal. We had 2 adults, 10yo(adult), and 2 kids, 8, 5. The plan cost us $125.00 per day, or $750.00 for the 6 nights. I added up our bills; (you usually get a slip back with your order, but the prices are blank.) I jotted down the totals for each meal. Our total on the plan for the week was $1276.00 approximately. We did pay out of pocket for a few kids meals to maximize our tickets.

1st day-arrived in afternoon- Biergarten dinner- 98.00 - used 5 ts
*alot of restaurants add the tip to the alcohol portion of the bill also, so just check for that. Some do, some don't. alcohol - $22.06 loved it!
2 snacks-soda and popcorn $4.75 used 0 CS

day 2- 1 cs breakfast adult(4 pancakes and sausage, large oj, fruit cup) $9.98 ***We also brought small cereal boxes from home).
AK-lunch Flame Tree barbeque- 1/2 chkn meal, kids hotdog meal, 2 rib meals with fries instead of beans, drinks and 4 desserts ( 4 CS) $48.97
4 snacks/ 2 icecream, water, soda $9.50 ton of food. 2 of us split rib platter.
dinner Boatwrights- prime rib dinner, salad, dessert, coffee, seafood stew w/extra shrimp (no extra charge), crab cakes, dessert, drink, $96.79 ( 2 TS)
We paid out of pocket for 3 kids meals plus glass of wine & beer $35.00 total incl. tip. (nice relaxing dinner, food good, nothing exciting, but relaxing because we stayed at POR

day 3 -relaxed at pool/ husband golfed. 3 CS - water, burger basket, fruitcup, chkn tender basket, cookie, soda, fruit cup, taco chckn salad, water. $32.88
snacks 3 ice cream bars (3 ) $9.50
Boma dinner - used 7 TS ( we took out our inlaws and they let us pay with our credits( total 141.58 ) alcohol $17.75 plus tip. Excellent food!!! One of our favorites.

day 4 Pecos Bills 3CS - burger w/fries, 2 ckn wrap w/fries-1 w/carrots, dessert 2 choc. cream pie, 1 carrot, lemonade, water, oj
my 5yo was so hungry that my husband pd oop for 1 hotdog earlier. He shared carrots, fries, dessert, etc. $33.97
Columbia Harbor house- 1CS chicken tenders fries, water, chips(dessert-for later) $10.40
4 snacks, 2 ice cream, 1 popcorn, 1 water $10.25
dinner- Concourse Steak House (5 TS) - shrimp pasta, coffee, caesar salad(app), cobbler
Kids shrimp cocktail app, sprite, cheese pizza, painters palate for dessert
coffee, chessecake, ny strip steak, shrimp cocktail
lemonade, crab cake, brownie sundae, ny strip steak (my 10yo had full adult steak b/c we had to pay adult myw dining for her)
kids salad (app), lemonade, cheese pizza, painters palate.
They had kids appetizers on the menu, so the kids had to order kids appetizers here. My 10yo didn't want appetizer, so we ordered another appetizer for us. **excellent meal*** $180.06
2 glasses of wine $20.00 incl. tip ( was $14.64- I left 20.) It had already had tip included, I didn't realize....that goes for Biergarten also.)

day 5 POR- breakfast 2 CS - 2 fruit cup, milk, oj, 2 pancake w/meat
$19.54 ( I almost always ordered adult CS meals and sometimes we split)
I think only 1 time in AK that I ordered kids hotdog meal b/c 5yo wanted hotdog and there was only a kids hotdog meal w/corn on cob and applesauce.
oatmeal -$2.66 paid out of pocket
MGM- lunch used 4 CS - 2 water (this is the only place that would only give small water for CS lunch)-I questioned-but didn't fight about it---)2 choc milk, 4 choc chip cookies, 2 cheese pizzas, 2 veggie pizzas $47.77
snacks 2 water and 2 sodas, $8.00
dinner 4 TS- Spoodles - cappuccino, sundae, paella w/scallops, peasant salad
2 kids chkn tenders, 2 sundaes, 2 bruschetta bread
brulee, mediterrantean dips, salmon ***I wasn't crazy about my salmon- bruschetta bread was delicious.
total $154.06 (we paid out of pocket for my 10yo daughter- she wanted kids meal.--kids chckn and choc shake (we could have put her choc shake as my drink and saved more----) pitcher of sangria (17.75)
total incl tip $33.90 The waitresses at these restaurants seem to encourage the extra appetizers. She even told us our 8yo and 5 yo didn't need to order kids meals. They could order off the regular menu. We didn't because they wanted kids chicken tenders anyway.
day 6 POR - 2 pancakes w/meat, choc milk, croissant, fruit cup, oj - ( 2 CS)
POR - 5 CS burger basket, choc milk, jello/ cheese pizza, chicken parm sub, choc milk, jello, rice crispy treat, water 2 chkn parm dinners, 2 fruit cups, oj, choc milk - $55.00
dinner - 5TS Ohana- $131.11 We also had dessert, 3 beach bombs, choc mousse, volcano pudding - starters and sides were delicious...We thought the meat was too dry....great atmosphere though.
pineapple drink and backscratcher for alcoholic drinks -approx $25.00 incl tip. The pineapple drink was delicious, but the backscratcher was way too strong for our taste.

day 7 Now, we didn't pay for meal plan for day 7 because you only pay for the number of nights that you're staying. We had 5 extra cs from the first day and as you can see we had several CS breakfasts because we shared a couple of times.
We also had 2 extra TS because we paid o.o.p for kids a couple of times.
Character Breakfast -Ohana (used 2 remaining TS for 2 Adults) $43.72
paid for 3 kids $31.92 plus tip

dinner 5CS -POR - chckn plate, carrot cake, water/ 2 burger baskets, choc cake, soda, lemonade, ice cream sandwich/ chckn parm dinner, soda, choc cake, apple juice, carrot cake, philly cheesesteak basket
total = $66.00
2 ice cream, 3 waters, 5 popcorn (10 total ) -different times during day.
$26.00
We still went home with 2 snack coupons left.

I definitely would recommend Concourse steak house, Boma, Biergarten. Those were our favorites!! Flame tree barbeque in AK for lunch.

This plan is definitely worth the cost and more and it's so nice to have everything prepaid and not worry about how much everything is going to cost.

Enjoy!!!

What a great review! My kids are the same ages as yours so its a great way to compare.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Glad to see someone with a positive report on the dining plan :cool1: The threads on these seem to be so negative on it. looks like you saved a little over $500 :earseek: AWESOME :cheer2: WE are looking forward to trying it on our trip!

Thanks for the great review

Thanks for the review. :flower: We're doing BOMA, Ohana, CP, Donald's, CG (or Narcoosees - can't decide), 1900 Park Faire, and Concourse. I think I'm missing one :confused3 I love hearing other people's experiences, esp. with the dining plan :cool1:

Glad to hear you saved some bucks. We are going next week and also have the MYW dining plan.
How were the crowds?

Thanks for taking the time to post the great info! Yours is a perfect example of just what a great deal the MWY plan can be if it is used intelligently.

WOW- Great report. We are going with the meal plan in 2 weeks. Can't wait.

I love the fact that Disney has made the plan flexible, and allow you to move the credits, pay for kid's meals, etc.

Do you think your 10 Y.O. got the money's worth? We have DD (6,9). We scheduled our trip to take advantage, that she is still 9, and not yet a dining adult.

Can you use a TS credit at a counter service place? Not that we will but it would be good to know.
Thanks

Thanks

About a week ago, someone posted that you could. They said you could trade down, not just trade up.

I wish they would allow you to combine 2 counter meals, for a table service. That would be perfect IMO.

I saw the same post, seems to be the person wasn't 100% sure. Thought I'd ask someone who just went.

Thank you for the great reveiw! This is exactly what I was looking for, someone that used it and shows examples of how!! Thanks again!

Sorry for the delay....we were away for the weekend. Yes, I think my 10yo got her money's worth, and if she didn't we did as a family. As I said, we used a couple of her credits for my inlaws for dinner, and at Concourse she had a full sized steak. The buffets charged her as a child, but of course, we had paid the $35.00. I still think it was definitely worth it and the kids loved getting whatever they wanted, including dessert, all the time.
I'm not sure if you can trade down from TS to CS, but I don't see that working out too well financially.
Downtown Disney was the only disappointment. We were there one afternoon and there wasn't anywhere to eat for a counter service. I had heard that Earl of Sandwich was included, but it wasn't on my brochure and we didn't ask. We just decided to go back to POR and have lunch there.

Enjoy your trips. I wish I were back there.

Someone else asked about the crowds and they were at their worst the 2 days after Easter. The other days were crowded, but I would definitely take advantage of the early openings. There are so many people who aren't early birds.

Thank you for the information. Wondering--how did you go about paying for kid's meals out-of-pocket? I mean, what exactly did you say to your server? Thanks again!

Thank you for the information. We are going to Concourse Steakhouse when we are there in May.

I just told them that we're on Disney Dining plan and I'm paying for my 10yo daughter. They just put that on a separate check with any alcohol.
Also, since we usually had a glass of wine with dinner, they usually put the kids non-alcoholic drinks under my credit and the couple of times that we paid for the kids, we didn't have to buy them drinks either.
They were very accommodating.
