MYW dining plan and room discount

I bought the Annual Pass to get the $100 off/night; we're staying 7 nights so the extra $150 is easily offset by this reduction in hotel cost for two rooms. But I'd love to get the Dining Plan (with regular 7 day passes) for all of those in our party. It would save so much money (if you are careful about following the guidelines of course).

Any earlier post referred to being able to combine the two using "jump codes".

If anyone has any other info., PLEASE let me know; I'd appreciate your help.

I too would like to hear what type of discount you had, as I have a room only ressie for December, hoping for a general code and to be able to add the dining plan. I think it is silly of Disney to loose this potential income by restricting who can use the plan and who can't based on the ticket type.

If you book the room with your AP rate, and if you are the only one with the AP...can't you get the dinning with the tickets you have for everyone else in the room with you.

I believe the rule on the dinning says everyone in the room has to have it, so wouldn't that be able to include you?

If you can't get that did you think about getting the DDE with your AP? Atleast you'd save 20% on your food that way (I believe that's what I read the savings is on it).

Sorry I couldn't be any more help! :teeth:

I got the regular AP discount in the Poly.; $100 off rack rate per night. The FIRST time I called the CM would only give this discount on regular rooms but the SECOND time I called, I just asked to upgrade to the concierge level and it went through just fine.

I've tried twice since this to get the Dining Plan added with no luck (I tried several times as was suggested on this forum!).

I'm going to try once more by asking to buy tickets for the rest of the family and adding Dining Plan.... then maybe they'll "insist" on adding me too so that we are "all on the same plan"...hey, it's worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestion on the DDE; one of the CM suggested it too and I'm definitely going to get that if the Dining Plan doesn't work out.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I "think" everyone in the room has to be on the same ticket and dining plan. Some have said they added 1 day MYW base ticket for everyone in the room (which you would need b/c you already have your AP) and then the dining plan for everyone for the 7 days. Good luck.

I guess you will have to decide if the extra cost of your ticket, etc. is worth adding the dining plan.

I asked about this being a possibility and my CM said that you are not allowed both discounts, it is like "double-dipping" and that is not allowed!! She was quite rude.

Some people have reported getting the dining with AP and others adding dining to a code discount.

I called last week to see if the new FL Res rates would lower my ressie at the CR, (which I have with the winter rate). The CRO agent started out saying that we should see how much it'd be with the "Eat and Sleep Plan". She said that there's a little known "loophole" in the system, where you can book one day park tickets, still have a room discount, and get the dining plan. She said it's so great, that she can't imagine that Disney will still be offering it for much longer! For a minute, it looked like the dining plan option would have added $1243 to my total cost, which I thought might be worth it with four of us going for our one week trip, (myself, DH, two teenage DS's as well.) She left the phone again, and suddenly she told me that her supervisor was on the phone as well. The supervisor proceeded to apologize and explain that the cost would be an additional $2875! I assume that the original agent was trying to get us a super deal and got busted in the process. I felt badly for her, so I told the supervisor that the CM was doing an excellent job, and not to worry about the discount not working out. Moral of story: It really seems as though you need to have booked the room with rack rates, and as the new quote revealed: a minimum three day park ticket option, in order to add the dining package. We joined DDE back in early February, and I'm going to call this week to get the faxed letter or email, since we leave in about two weeks. Thanks anyway to everyone posting their hints! :confused3

I was e-mailed a room discount code in 1/2005. It is not a general public code (so I was told by CM). I guess Disney picks certain people on their mailing list to send codes to. I have gotten several codes e-mailed to me in he past year but none have been postcards that have been sent through regular mail. I was also told that these codes are non-transferable. I think that I just got really lucky! I had read on this board and others that I frequent that some other people were able to keep the room discount and add dining as well. So when I was originally told that this was not possible I kept trying. I had to buy the whole package through Disney-tickets, dining and room at POR which I was able to get for $79 per night. My discount code would have allowed me to stay at Value Resort for $54 - $59 per night
depending on when I went. I decided to go with Moderate because we have small chidren and plan on spending some down time at the resort-figured it might be a little nicer with more to do. As far as the tickets go, I probably could have saved about $50 if I had bought them from a wholesaler websight but then I risk them(Disney) changing their mind about the discount room and dining plan. I don't want to rock the boat!! All said and done my price for POR 7 nights, dining package and tickets for our family of 4 was under $2000. All I can say is keep trying! good luck Debi

The way I see it you(Allison's Aunt) have 2 hurdles: 1) Can you get the dining plan added with the discount and 2) Can you add the dining plan when one of the people in the room is not buying MYW/not on the plan.

Well for no. 2 the one solution may be to not include that person on the reservation... book the room for 2 with MYW. The big question there would be can you book a room with the AP disount but tell them you need tickets anyway.

That would give you 2 rooms, 1 room with 3 people (2 on the plan (one of whom owns an AP) and 1 person "snuck in" who will use that persons unneeded MYW tickets) and 1 room with 4 people with MYW. That would leave you with 6 people booked all on the same plan (again IF you can book a room with an AP and buy tickets for that person anyway) OK I know it sounds confusing and none of it matters if you can't do it, AND none of it matters if... Back to no. 1 - If you can't add dining with the discount. But if part 2 works you'd be half way there. You'd have 6 people all booked with the same plan (Hopefully with the AP room disount) Then you add the dining option to all 6. (Even though you have 7) Trust me, 6 people on the dining plan will feed 7 (except buffets) but 6 people at a sit down, when each one gets an appetizer, salad, dinner, side, dessert and drink, will feed 7 with no problem.

I know you're bending the rules a little for the 7th person, the other option would be to book the room for 3 and before you leave add the non exp. option to the one unused MYW ticket.

But using the other option you would not have to buy that ticket or the non exp option and you'd "save" $35/night on the dining plan.
