MYW Dining - official list?

I guess the "Disney Magic" has flown over to Universal or it's in the ocean! It totally breaks my heart!

We've only been to the World one time and are taking the IL's for our second trip. Every place we wanted to try or revisit is on the list and it looks like we'll save some money with the plan. Now let's hope they don't take any more restaurant's off!

I think for us, we are still going to eat at Brown Derby and Le Cellier but not on the dinning plan! We really don't need to each eat an appetizer since the entree's are big and we have to have dessert ( maybe we will share that too). I am going to keep my room only discount, buy discounted tickets, and eat where and what we want. I bet I will save more money that way! I remember doing the silver plan last time and it was tough to eat appt, and deserts for every meal! ( and I love to eat, lol) So maybe this is for the best. I bet the people already there, don't know all the new changes, are in for a upsetting surprise. I can hear the trip reports already!

I am going to wait and see if they add more restaurants to the list. It's quite possible that they're still figuring out which restaurants to include (maybe the list I found is a work in progress??); perhaps they might alternate restaurants periodically depending on demand. Of course, they have the disclaimer that the list is subject to change, so we could all plan the meals we want, then they could change it the day we're there. :guilty:

I still have plenty to choose from - so at least for us, the dining plan will be worth it.

Does seem from the list that guests are having to plan an awful lot around Disney's dining choices, not WITH.
I think it gives the wrong impression too that they list a turkey leg location as a snack, if in truth the turkey legs are not included as a snack. I can understand a drink is called a snack in Disney-ese. But I think they should just list any drink/popcorn cart, period. I am wondering if those roasted almonds are not even included. I am thinking not.

The packages started off looking promising. But they seem to be the same old package story.

Disney does provide discounts on these meals. But they are selective and guests may be paying more for the room too.

Oh no, it keeps getting worse! Take a look at the counter service places at Epcot that are on the dining list! I am really shocked by all of this!

Where is the Sunshine Season Food Fair? The Land? (That is currently closed and under rehab)
Electric Umbrella is not bad. I like their sandwiches on pretzel bread. (Not that I am buying a package anyway! ) Just more fast food counter service.
Fountainview is good. But mostly pastries and beverages.
Norway Bakery is very good too. Limited choices, but what they have is good.
Liberty Inn. Oh boy. More junky fast food.
Fish N Chips. They seem to be something people either love or hate. We have not tried them. Too many other good places to eat, rather than eat greasy fish n chips.

Normally WS has plenty of great eating places. Few are offered on this plan. Maybe more in the furture, I hope for guest's sake. I don't think this list is showing the best Epcot has to offer.

I feel the same....I am sure it is all a work in progress, and who knows if there will ever be a "correct list" for reference at the moment. But I agree that the majority of good choices are still there, and it will still be quite worth it to us!

The plan still seems flexible enough that if your favorite eatery is not on the list, you could grab lunch there at your own expense for example, but still use your dining plan to enjoy a signature restuarant for a nice dinner. All in all, if it doesn't suit your needs, you don't have to book the dining plan!

A few of the signature places maybe but I did the calculations and for the choices I would make I wouldn't save anything and would actually lose at two of them.

i think that's the point. don't get me wrong, i always want to save money, too. but the whole magic your way thing is, to quote someone from CNBC "a cleverly disguised price increase". you will still be able to get a deal at a few places. for all us on the DIS, we just have too much knowledge about the world to see any real big savings on new promotions/deals.

Just a quick question.. if the restaurants keep disapearing and there isn't much of a choice, can those that have already made our deposit on the package change it to just a room and ticket package?
