MYW Dining and Split Stay ? From A Newbie

Hi All!

Just a quick question about the MYW dining plan. I understand that it has to be purchased for every member of your party for each night of your stay, along with park tickets. What I was wondering is, can I book, say, a three-night stay at AKL or wherever for myself, DW, and DS, with three days' worth of dining plan credits, and instead of just three-day MYW hopper tickets, could I buy six or seven day tickets?
In a nutshell, I want to try and rent points from a DVC member to stay three or four nights midweek at Beach Club Villas, but I know that such a booking would render us ineligible for the MYW dining plan for those nights. But I have crunched a few numbers and can see where we would make out very well for a few of our dining choices using the plan (in addition to which, DS 4 will LOVE AKL), and thought I would combine the two stays into one trip this coming December or January.
I would just buy two separate MYW hoppers for each of us, one with the dining and the AKL stay, and the other for the BCV stay, but that is not cost-effective. So, does CRO care if I do this? Is the MYW dining plan tied ONLY to the number of nights stayed, and as long as you have tickets for at least that number of nights they don't care if you extend your ticket length?
Sorry for the long first post, and thanks in advance for the answers which I am sure all of you great DIS'ers will provide!

The days on your ticket do not have to match up to the days on teh dining plan, you do have to buy at least a one day ticket with your room/dining plan

I do think you can buy the longer tickets since you won't be able to use the dining plan at the DVC anyway.

Does this mean that on our upcoming 14 night stay we could book a 3-4 day room/ticket/meal package and then just get a room only/AP ressie and use the 3 days worth of vouchers anytime we wanted during the entire two week stay?

Thank you for the help, I need all I can get. :teeth:

No. The package nights = number of table service, counter service, and snacks per person. So if you stay 3 nights with the package, each person gets 3 table service meals, 3 counter service meals, and 3 snacks to use until midnight on the day you check out of the hotel booked on the MYW + dining package. The park tickets just have to be at least one day MYW tickets for each person. The tickets can be used within the 14 days after they are first used.

When you could check-in on the room only/AP, you could technically continue using your remaining mail credits (if there are any) until midnight that night since you checked out of the other resort that day.

Hope this helps. :wizard:

WDWBetsy, thank you. I misunderstood the earlier posting. Makes sense that they would do it that way.

I am trying to get my mind around eating that much food in one day. Sounds like fun but getting the extra weight off when I got back home would not be. Have lost a lot and it was hard and I do not want to be finding any of it again.

I totally understand. It's just the DH and I - I'm thinking that we'll split a lot of our counter service meals - so we can use them for an equal amount of breakfasts and lunches. Will really enjoy the table service meals for dinner, and snacks will probably be bottles of water.

I firmly believe (yes, I'm trying to rationalize this! hehe) that all the walking around will work off all the extra calories!

Hope you have fun!

Hey, just noticed that you are a fellow Hoosier. Howdy!!

We are used to eating only two meals a day. I have lost about 90 pounds and it is not an easy thing for me to do. I have never gained weight while at DW (wish I could move in for a year and get really skinny LOL) but doubt that I would either want to eat that much and if I did if I could keep from gaining weight. My hubby is a big eater though so that might balance out.

Thank you for the help.
