To accomodate some frequent diners, I have moved the Mythos meet on 10/12 to 1 pm. I might be wandering around the parks earlier, but after a late night at HHN, I'm not sure if I can get up so early.

HHN meet are still on:

6:00 pm: Under the IOA lighthouse
8:00 pm: Alchemy Bar, IOA

See everyone then!

Is the Mythos meet the same as the HHN meet? Meaning, are the same people meeting at boths?

As it turns out, I'll be there that day. My bud in Gainesville wanted to go to HHN this year, so I asked for this coming weekend off from work. But now he tells me he can't go this weekend, and this is the only free time I have this month.

So I was stuck with time off work and a trip to IOA without a companion (and I really hate the idea of going to HHN by myself), until I recalled reading about a meet on the 12th.

So just letting you know I'll be there. If enough people dare me, I'll wear my Marty McFly costume. ;)

Cool! See you at Mythos.

I'm not so sure about the Marty McFly costume. That jacket looks too thick to wear in the Florida heat. :)

Oh, we will have just missed you on the 28th, we will have already left.
Well, have a lot of fun anyway !

Any Meets on Sunday the 13th? Are Orlando schools out on Monday (Columbus Day)?
Wanna leave town this week-end, but looks like all on-site is full.
How many beds in your room Barry?
Jim

I was planning on doing MK on 10/13. Want to come?

There's only two beds in my room, but I'm at the Clarion Universal this time. You can sleep on the toliet after I've used it, though. :)

We have a small change to the HHN meets, from the Florida Coaster Club...

To all those attending Halloween Horror Nights this Saturday:

As you may have heard, and as we expected, the move to IOA and massive marketing by Universal has resulted in this year's HHN being EXTREMELY popular. The opening weekend set several records, including the largest first-weekend attendance in the event's history! It appears the question of going on a "peak" vs "non-peak" night is a moot point. Sell-outs are expected throughout the run.

This means there are some things you need to know....

First and foremost, BUY YOUR TICKETS AHEAD OF TIME! DO NOT WAIT until you arrive at the park on Saturday afternoon or evening! If you do, there is a VERY good chance that you will be greeted by "SOLD OUT" signs at the entrance to the parking garages! Only those who have their HHN tickets in hand will be allowed into the property. You can get them through the website www.halloweenhorrornights.com , at a Spencer Gifts store, or at Ticketmaster.

Remember, you can save more than $13 per ticket with your Universal Annual Pass, or with the UPC code from a 2-liter bottle of Coca-Cola or a coupon from Taco Bell.

Next, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that, if you can, you should arrive at the park earlier in the day, and take advantage of the "Stay and Scream" option. Those who are already INSIDE IOA BY 5 PM AND HAVE THEIR TICKETS FOR HHN will be allowed to remain in a holding area (The Jurassic Park Discovery Center) while the rest of the day guests are swept from the park. This option will also allow us to visit selected attractions BEFORE the main gates open to everyone else! This is what I and many others are planning to do, and if at all possible, SO SHOULD YOU! Meet us at Burger Digs in the JP Discovery Center at 5:00.

For those who can't make it in time for "Stay and Scream", GET THERE AS EARLY AS YOU CAN and again, have your HHN tickets already bought! Although the official HHN opening time is advertised as 7:00, we have it on good authority that gates will actually open well before that time.

THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED FLCC MEETING TIME of 6:00 at the foot of the Lighthouse outside the gate IS CANCELLED; it will be too late to be any good. Instead, enter the park as soon as you can, and make your way to the XTREME THEATER in TOON LAGOON, where we will all meet around 7:00 to attend the first showing of "Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure" (scheduled for 7:45.) Just look for the gold FLCC shirts!

The second originally-planned FLCC meeting time (8:00 at the Alchemy Bar across from Dueling Dragons) IS ALSO CHANGED, since we will now still be at the Bill & Ted show at that time. Instead, it will be 9:00 at the SAME LOCATION.

Is anybody from this board going to be at IOA for HHN on the 12th?

I'll be happy to meet the rest of you at Mythos earlier in the day, but i would also like a group to hang out with later that night. If I can't find anytbody to go with, I don't think I'll be going at all...

If i do go, i will wear my Marty outfit, though iIprobably wont wear my denim jacket and good down vest.

Anyway, I hope to see you guys there.

-Kevin

I'll be at HHN. Also feel free to join the happy Florida Coaster Club folks. They don't bite. :)

I'll be there tomorrow.

I'll meet you guys at Mythos at 1. Since I don't know what you guys look like (unless Barry actually looks like a mouse, MsDisney looks like Egore, and MIB9 looks like Marvin The Martian) I'll get there early and let you guys spot me.

Like I promised, I'll be in my Marty McFly outfit; blue jeans, squares patterned shirt, maroon undershirt, suspenders and white Nikes with red swoosh. I'm not sure if I'll be wearing the denim jacket and red goose down vest. Either way, you'll recognize me when you see the big dork in front of Mythos.

Anyway, see you tomorrow.

So where were you? We missed you. I even waited until 1:05. Did you go back in time and change the timeline to an alternate 2002? :)

I was there. I was a little late to leave home, but I got to the park sometime before 12:30am. I hurried to The Lost Continet, and surpsingly got there at ten till one. I hung out outside Mythos and inside the waiting area for about half an hour.

I looked around to see if I could possibly recognize anybody, but everybody seemed like a tourist. I even asked at the desk for a party reservation under your name.

Anyway, needless to say, I got to Universal too late to get HHN tickets. Unfortunetly I'm going to miss it this year.

After Mythos I headed over to POE and put the jackets in a locker and then to Confiscos. I really used to like Confiscos, but I told the waiteress how disapointed I was that so many of the little things I enjoyed were gone, like the fuller menu and the paper tablecloth you could draw on. I didn't really check, but did they take out all the "confiscated" props from all the other islands? Anyway, she told me the flimsy menu is due to the seaspn (i.e. Horror Nights), but I still felt something was missing.

I waited in a "35 Minute Wait' Spider-Man line for over 45 minutes, listening to those around me complain about the wait. I then did Fire Dragon, front row, and hurried over to Hulk right before closing time, and rode front rode on one of the last launches.

I went over to The Studios, and found Doc right at the gate, seeing people off. I went up to him in full costume, suprised him, and got my picture taken with him. He remembered me from the BTTF Fan Meet from a couple of months ago. I got the actor's contact information so I could interview him for my upcoming BTTF site.

I got in line for BTTF...The Ride, and freaked out the people in front of me thanks to my costume. I got a chuckle from a guy in line when I corrected Doc for saying Biff graduated Hill Valley High class of 1955.

I did the MIB single rider line. I had a really good time, following as many rules as I could remember, and getting my highest score; 399,675. I know it's far from 999,999 but it made me feel good enough to ride again. The second time around the kid infront of me got the red button bonus, so I only got a pitiful five digit score.

I rode JAWS, and then Earthquake, though, since it was the last ride of the day, they skipped the new pre-show, which was the main reason I wanted to ride. I spent some time at the main Universal Studios store, and impulse bought $90 dollars worth of BTTF The Animated Series tapes.

I caught the 8:05 screening of Red Dragon at Universal Cineplex, and then headed home

Anyway, despite missing ou on the Mythos meet and HHN 2002, I still had a pretty good, laidback day off from work.

-Kevin

Gee Doc...I'm surprised we missed you...we got to Mythos late since we were stuck in the parking garage lines just trying to get IN to park until just about 1...so it was about 1/4 past when we arrived at Mythos...there were people sitting in the waiting room, but we didn't look for you since we figured everyone was already inside...Barry and crew were already inside seated...it was then that I noticed that nobody looked like Marty McFly...and Barry said he didn't see you yet.
I'm surprised we didn't see you at the Studios...after IOA, we hit the Studios from about 5 until 6:30 or so, and did MIB a few times (single rider) and then even stopped in the BTTF store, which I'd never been in before!

Anyway, sorry we missed you, but it sounds like you had a nice day! We decided it would be best to stop in and pick up our tickets for Thurs. nights HHN...so we have them in hand and don't have to worry about it selling out, etc. :)
