We are thinking about booking to eat here for our wedding anniversary. Its both ours and MIL/FIL while we are over there 21st/22nd Oct. We have read about it and it sounds lovely, has anyone been and tried it?

Yes, we've eaten there several times and it's definitely one of the better theme park options, although I always feel compelled to refute the 'fine dining in a theme park' claim. We were disappointed the first time we ate there (for dinner) based on the rave reviews it receives. The floor was covered in a day's worth of food, we were seated in a heavy traffic area and everyone other than us was drinking soda - we felt quite out of place with our bottle of wine on ice.

We now prefer to go for an early lunch whilst the restaurant is still nice and clean (in fact, we try to do that everywhere - it makes such a difference).

Thought it was ok ish but not blown away like many peple.

Emerils just outside is our favourite spot for lunch when at IOA/Universal

IMO it is better for lunch than dinner. If you are in IOA and looking for a nice sit down restaurant for lunch then it would be my choice. Lombard's in US is another nice restaurant for lunch.

We have eaten at Mythos several times - in fact, we always make a point of having an early lunch at Mythos whenever we're at IOA. I agree with Debs, in that it is not 'fine dining' however I've never been able to fault the food there and their shakes are delicious. It's a shame you're planning on going 21st/22nd Oct as we have a lunch reservation for Monday 23rd there - we could have met up :)

Hey there! It's also our 1st wedding anniversary on 21 October we land on 20 October (it's also our be-lated honeymoon cos couldn't take honeymoon due to husbands father passing away 3 days before our wedding day ) We are going to MGM studios on the day but not even thought about where to eat on the night.. :confused3

It will also be our anniversary whilst we are out there, i dont really fancy eating in the day, but would like a nice meal at night.

do anyone know what time IOA closes in may? and do the restaurants dtay open after the rides have closed?

We ate there a few years ago and I was fairly unimpressed. The food was average, served at burger shop speed, and the restaurant itself was full of people in shorts who when all's said and done have come to IOA to get wet, ride fast rides and have a laugh. This all added up to a pretty strange atmosphere. Like going to macdonalds in a tuxedo.

The decor is good though.

I would go for the Maya Grill at the Coronado Springs for a nice, intimate, mid budget dinner.
