And when I walked by it on my way into Sinbad on 11/06 the Fountain was entertaining a bunch of kids....

whenever the potter section gets expanded, i hope they can find a new home for the mystic fountain. (unless he stays where he is)

it would break my heart if he was crumbled.

Good to know. I would hate to hear of his demise too! Spent many a good times with him years past.

It was when we were there in August. My husband and I had stopped at the mister fan that was near the fountain. This girl was sitting on the right side (if you're facing it) texting away, totally oblivious to the world. Suddenly, the fountain came to life and started spurting water in all directions. She leapt up, yelling, and ran about five feet away before she turned around to see what happened. By the time she turned around, the fountain had stopped and she looked so confused. My husband and I couldn't stop laughing. It was one of the most entertaining things we'd seen all day.

With the Potter expansion, I could imagine the fountain being re-designed as the Sorting Hat. It would require a complete makeover, and a slight altering of the shtick, but I think it would be a hoot!

The operator of that thing has, without question, the best job in the park.

We were there last week and it was still operating. There was a teenager with Down's Syndome who was being entertained by it. It was truly amazing watching her with the fountain. My young kids love it - but it was very moving watching the teen interact with the fountain and dancing in the water with pure bliss.

Yeah...and to think lots of visitors walk right by Rocky and no idea he's there.

It's in the Lost Continent area of IoA and right in front of the entrance to The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad stunt show.

My DDs always forget about it and I make them take a rest near it AND love their expressions when it starts I hope they'll never get rid of it!

He is still there and still entertaining kids. He cut up with my 3 kids for about 15 minutes while we were there a few weeks ago. I thought he said his name was Patrick.

Whoever is behind the voice, is very funny and very quick witted. He comes up with such funny stuff on the fly with little or no advanced warning.

I have a little video of the kids at the fountain. After I realized it was the fountain talking to the kids I started video taping it. My one son kept trying to push his step brother in front of the water to get him squirted, but they were all pretty good at dodging the water squirts. THEN water came shooting out of the top really high and all around and they had to JUMP back to keep from getting wet.

You will see him when you are walking back towards WWOHP. It is past Seuss before you get to Harry Potter right by the Sinbad Stunt show theater.

The first time we encountered the fountain it was just making a loud gurgling noise and snoring. Then when we came back by about 45 min later he was talking and joking. My 3 kids just walked right out in front of the fountain so he could see them and he started joking and talking with them. They enjoyed it and so did I.

I would hate to see the park lose that feature.

last month he would ask some kids, 'what is your name?"
they would answer and ask him his name.
he said Patrick.


maybe he has a dual personality and two names......

We have been going to US for 5 years and this summer was the first summer we noticed it.

The kids had a blast and wanted to visit it everyday. It's really funny how the fountain remembers the kids names when they return. My son was wearing mirrored sunglasses and it called him "mini terminator" all week.
