We are staying at Mystic Dunes Resort. Can anyone give me directions on how to get there from Sanford Airport using route 417. Thank you

Hi...I work at the Mystic Dunes golf course in the winter...you will enjoy it...very nice condos, close to Disney.

From Sanford take 471 Toll South to Exit 2 (Celebration and Hwy 192). It will cost 25 to 50 cents to get off so have exact change ready.
Keep RIGHT off the exit to Hwy 192. At the big stop light on 192 stay in left lanes and turn LEFT onto 192. Go about 2+ miles and look for OLD LAKE WILSON ROAD on your left. Turn LEFT and travel about 2 miles. Mystic Dunes will be a huge gated entrance on your right. You will see big tall Palm trees as you approach.

Thank you for the info. About how long will it take from sanford airport and another question for you is how to get to Disney parks from Mystic Dunes. This will be our first stay at Mystic Dunes. We have a 2 bedroom villa.

Hi, figure 50-60 minutes right to the MDunes from Sanford and about 5-6 dollars in tolls. Those will be the last tolls you pay until you return to Sanford unless you take some unusual routes...
I would recommend a simple way to get to Disney and a little more complex way to get back...

To Disney...Old Lake Wilson to 192, turn right and go a couple of miles to the Disney entrance...

To get back...follow signs in Disney to Animal Kingdom from anywhere inside the property...be ready to take some quick right hand turns off the main roads in Disney. As you approach Animal Kingdome stay in LEFT lane and follow the sign for Animal Kingdom LODGE. In about 1/2 mile you will come to a stop light that says Sherberth Road...turn LEFT...travel this little curvy road that becomes straight and intersects with 192...

At 192 stop light GO STRAIGHT through the light. There will be a 7-11 gas station on your right...keep going straight right to the fountain entrance to Westgate and a little round-about. Go around the fountain instead of into the resort and then straight out to Old Lake Wilson Road....turn RIGHT and you are home in a jiffy.
This way to exit avoids a lot of driving inside Disney and exiting out into construction on 192.

If and only if you are going to Animal Kingdom or Animal Kingdom Lodge take Sherberth into as well as out of Disney...enjoy...Ted

Alas, I have been away too long!!

Is all the construction done on I-4 where it exits west onto 192....After watching the hwy 27 construction and the construction on I-4 to Tampa, I just assumed it took 5 years to get 2 miles of anything done!!!

thanks for clearing that up...do you think it is just as fast to now exit Disney to 192 west as to take Sherbert to get to Mystic Dunes or our beloved Indian Ridge???

yes Ted, that construction is done as well and the ramps are all open.

As you know the light at OLW and 192 takes forever! (actually it's 3 1/2 min) but depending on where you are at on property taking 192 West can be faster. A lot of people know the shortcut now and sometimes it can take a while to go that way. There has also been a lot of police presence on Sherberth so you have to go the 35mph or risk a ticket.

Here's a tip to beating the light and traffic when turning onto OLW from 192 .....get into the right left turn lane and watch the traffic, if it seems light going East then go through the light and make the 2nd turn (before the light at Sherberth) left. That will take you right out to OLW and you can beat the light traffic. It sounds confusing but you will see what I mean when you come down in January.

Going to WDW you turn RIGHT (EAST) onto 192 returning you go WEST

exit would be 64 off of I4

You don't need to take I4 out of WDW, just follow the signs for 192 W

Always head West when leaving WDW property

and it's just 64 now now AorB

here's a helpful hint about leaving WDW to get to the OLW area.

Always follow the signs for AK or AKL. You will usually see signs for 192 W either with the sign for AK or the exit after.

When you leave MK for example just follow the road out of property, 192 W will be the first exit AFTER you leave property on your RIGHT. Merge onto 192 and get in the left lane. You will be turning left at the SECOND traffic light

Just wanted to chime in here that we just spent 10 days at Mystic Dune in early Sept. It was perfect! Hardly anyone on property, very quiet. Very, very close to Disney, we enjoyed it and will stay there again. Enjoy your stay!
