MyPoints frustratration. Is it still doable?

OK, this is frustrating and annoying. I have enough points to get a 50.00 GC, but it says 300 points are "pending". How long do I have to wait for these pending points to become usable? Seriously, I'm at crunchtime already. I figured:

-order GC the end of June
-receive sometime in July
-go in August

Is there an easier way to achieve points at this stage in the game?

When points are pending, it's because the action that generated the points is subject to verification. That's what happens when you make a purchase, sign up for an offer or complete a survey. Points for click thru's are immediate but they only merit about 5-10 points each.

Unfortunately, there is just no way to make those pending points speed up. They usually remain pending for 1 month. Any large point-earning activity is also going to be met with the same pending period, so you can't even do a 300-point offer in order to make your total available points jump to where you can cash in for that $50 GC.

You have 2 choices:

• Cash in for a $25 GC and work towards another $25 GC for another purpose to be decided later.
• Or wait until all the pending points are approved so that you can cash in for the $50 GC. Then hope it arrives in time for your trip.

When I cash in my points, I usually receive the gift card w/in 10 days (but I usually get it within a week).

ETA: What gift card are you trying to get?

it tells you if you go into the details section what exact points are pending and when they will be off of the pending status.

Thanks for walking me through this. It doesn't look like I will get my 50.00 Walgreen's GC and there is not a 25.00 amount available. I guess I can save it for next time, since we all know, there will be a next time.

It usually takes 30 days for points to go from pending to redeemable! I dont complain as I have gotten 1000's of dollars in free gift cards from My points!!! You can find the transaction your waiting for in your Account area and usually it will tell you when the points will become available

I am new to My Points. How do you get so much from them? I have done the coupon for the 1000 bonus points twice this week. One has posted and I am waiting for the second.

I will be thankful for any tips.

There is always a next time, isn't there LOL!

I go through this same thing; I will say that the first time I ordered a Walgreens card it took FOREVER; but the next time, it seemed to come much quicker. We've found that the Landry's gift cards (lower points for a $50 than Walgreens) sometimes works better for us so that we can use it for T-Rex!

MyPoints has been around for many many years. I've been a member since '99. Over the years it's easy to accumulate lots of points.

I've been with them since '99 as well, since it was bonusmail. I go in waves, really working it sometimes, others totally ignoring it. I've probably seen about $700 in benefit over time. I check there before I buy ANYTHING online to see if I get a credit, and Surveys are really good at collecting points.

I have also heard that folks have had luck in buying Disney GCs from Target with Target GCs from Mypoints.

Regardless, give yourself 6 weeks after the redemption date to receive the rewards to avoid disappointment. I didn't.

OK, what 1000 bonus point coupon are you talking about?

Since I am at work, I can not go into My Points to get the exact name.
When I go into My Points, two different ads came up this week. It is also on the board that changes on when you go in. I am sorry I also forgot the name for this.

So far this week I have seen one that stated if you use this 50 cent coupon on any Pledge product at Walmart, fax them a copy of the receipt showing that you bought it and used the coupon with your name and email - you get 1000 points. The other one was on a Glade twin pack air freshner and the coupon was a free candle. They have to be purchased at Walmart.

I do not know how often these appears or when they come out with new ones since I just started My Points a little over one week ago.

I have received the points for the Glade product and I faxed the Pledge one in this morning. I figure two more and I will have enough for a $25 Target gift card.

We do that, too. We eat at RFC or TRex on most trips to Disney (Anaheim and Orlando (obviously just RFC in Anaheim), so a GC for Landry's always works for us.

We get the Landry's GC also! I think it is a better deal than the others and then we get to eat at T-Rex or Rainforest.
