MyPoints/Comet Warning

Just a heads up, I just got the 1500 pts Columbia House email from Mypoints and it tried to load Comet to my computer. If I am not mistaken, Comet is a spyware.

My Adaware caught it.

Oh, every time I log on to Blink and My Points I get a spyware. I run the AdAware after getting all my reward points

Now that I have reread my post: I think it was actually ZoneAlarm that stopped Comet and it was Adaware that I used to get rid of all of the files off my pc.

There is a sticky post at the top of the Rewards pagecalled *~Important Information For Reward Programs!*~ . Scroll down the page and there is a link for removing spyware from your computer. I think both of these programs are a must.

I have read posts that people have found hundreds of unwanted files on their pcs after running Adaware. After you clean up your files, the Zonealarm protects your pc from intrusion.

Comet is spyware. I had it before & got rid of it - finally - using AdAware I now use Adaware on a regular basis.

What is spyware? ... sounds scary

Spyware can track your every move on your pc. Some can even steal your personal information, like your cc #.

Maleficent2 started a wonderful thread on the "Remove Spyware...from your computer". Right now, it is few posts down from this one. It is a great resource and recommended reading-LOL.
