Is anyone that uses a hotmail account getting Mypoints bonus e-mails? They stopped coming to me about a month ago and I'm trying to figure out what to do.

Thank you for your help!!!

I use a hotmail account. For a period of about 3-4 weeks I got no bonus mails at all.... then I changed my address/profile information on MyPoints and since then I have gotten more bonus emails.

Do you have junk mail filters set up? Could they possibly be landing there? I use this email account for purely junk so i don't bother setting up filters..

I have a hotmail account and I'm still getting my points e-mails about 2 per day during the week. However I've haven't been recieveing credit usually 5 points for reading the e-mails on the past 5 or 6 e-mails:( I'm not sure why I was getting credit for them up until now. I think I'll have to check and find out why.
hope this helps.

I have Yahoo, and have been getting one or so messages a day.

I just received a text message (not an HTML message like I usually do) for a Dell offer that expired on Friday at 11pm CT! The date of the message is Saturday. Good thing I didn't need anything from Dell.

Okay, I just looked more closely. One place says it expired 4/18. Another says it expires 5/1.

Whatever!

Mypoints is a good program for me - I'm Canadian and lots of the shopping sections don't apply to me, so I can't spend much money online through Mypoints. However, in the US it seems as though you can shop for anything and earn points! So the points build up quickly.

I've redeemed for Olive Garden gc's and it's 1400 pts for a $10 gc. Most people here, however, save their points for Webcertificates, which are like electronic Mastercards. You can shop online with a Webcertificate (I believe you get an account set up with them once you redeem for some money) just like with a Mastercard. Others store up money in their Webcertificate account and when they have a large amount, they pay $6.95 to get a plastic card, so that you can go to regular stores and shop. (I think some have had success by printing out their webcert numbers rather than getting the electronic card.) In any case it seems like everyone uses these Webcertificates to buy Disney Dollars, or to pay part of their room costs, etc. A $25 one costs 3500 points. A $10 one is 1500 points.

If you know some Canadians :) and want to send them something they can use, you can redeem 2675 points for a $25 (CAD) gift certificate to many useful places.

Surf around the Spend Points section to see how else you can spend those hard earned points. And don't forget to click every bonus mail you get (it's usually 5 points, but they really add up.)

How many pts needed to redeem for anything decent?? Steph

What do you consider "decent?" I think the smallest amount you need is 750 pts. That gets you a $5 GC to places like Barnes&Noble, Olive Garden, Blockbuster (to name a few). 800 pts. gets you $5 at other places like Toys R Us and Burger King.

Most offers are $10 for 1400 pts or $25 for 3500 pts. These work out to be the same number of pts needed per dollar of redemption value (140 pts/$). But the best "value" is $25 at Barnes&Noble or B.Dalton for 2750 pts (110 pts/$).

Yes, I have a spreadsheet that I made when I started with all the offers I was interested in, the points needed, and the value of the redemption. I then calculated the number of pts/$ to see what was the "best deal." At the time I wasn't saving for a trip, so I got 2-$25 GC for Barnes&Noble and bought my DS lots of books. Now that I'm saving for our next Disney trip, I've been cashing out for Webcertificates and then using my plastic card to buy Disney Dollars.

HTH!

to order everything online to get more points? I am up at 750 already just for signing up and reading a few emails... havent ordered yet (going to do snapfish for 250 though)

I order as much as I can through MyPoints. Sometimes I use eBates instead (for LLBean orders they give you a flat $2 per order instead of a pts/$ or % of the purchase). They only send out checks once every quarter, but since I use my LLBean Visa to get free shipping, I can order each item separately and essentially get $2 off each item. Sometimes I also use S&H Greenpoints (S&H like the old Greenstamps) to order online. One of the local supermarkets has an S&H rewards card, so I get points for grocery purchases.

Depends where I'm ordering from and what sites reward for shopping there.

I read all of the emails that they send me for 5 pts. each, I make some purchases through them (best is Tupperware for 800 pts. that are credited immediately; I also bought the Ice Age video for 1000 pts.), and also do some of the "try it outs" (You have to be careful with these that you read the terms fully and make sure you cancel before you are charged a year for something you're not interested in, though). I joined on Feb. 9th, and have already earned 2 -$10 GCs and 1 -$25 GC (to restaurants for my Orlando trip):D
