No rumor is necessary. They have specifically stated that AP holders, photopass purchasers, and on-site guests will get MagicBands for free. All others will get RFID enabled tickets but can purchase MagicBands, if they choose.

By "they" do you mean Disney?

I've been trying to avoid the rumors so probably have missed any real official announcements.

May have to read some of these threads. I think I have seen the Official thread or blog or something since we are 85% sure we are going this Xmas, a 57% chance staying on site and It looks like there is a 38% chance there will be a rumor floated that they may be out by then. Unless I missed a official date when they are going to be out.

No, no date has ever been mentioned. Just this past week they nailed it down all the way to "sometime this year".

So is 38% too high or too low.

But if it is "sometime this year" I may say higher since there is only one more week in the year past our dates.
