***MyMagic+ & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

It appears that everyone staying at a test resort, including YC, during August is invited, although if you call IT they tell you you are only invited if you receive the email.

So if you don't receive an email, how do you enrol?

If you can log into the DMX account and have an option to customize MagicBands, then you'll be able to make FP+ suggestions.

It remains to be seen whether anyone who did not receive the official email/letter can actually redeem their FP+...

DMX, is that the My Disney Experience app?

I know people are just starting to use the FP+ over the past few days. And I know there are a whole bunch of threads on all sorts of things to do with Magic Bands and FP+ and the new systems. But I'm still not finding what I'm looking for.

For people there now or just coming back, if you had FP+ were you able to double dip? Were there any restrictions---only before/after FP+, different park, same park, etc.?

If you didn't have FP+, did you see regular FPs run out any earlier than usual? Were lines longer, either for FP or standby? Do FP+ and regular FP share a line?

Basically, I'm trying to find out what, if any, impact this is having on those of us who are not eligible for FP+. I'm hoping it's not much impact, but I'm afraid it might be quite a bit!

Forgive me is this has already been answered, but I'm just wondering.

1.)Those of us staying on-site will receive magic bands prior to our trips? Does this also include DVC members or people staying on DVC points?

2.) I am heading back down there in November? Is everything supposed to be rolled out by then?

I'm looking to find out the same thing. But, I think we won't know hte true extent of any effect until next week. They've only had 3 days of check-ins, maybe less than half of those at eleigible resorts arrived during the testing period.

After next weekend, most of the guests at the FP+ resorts would have arrived on testing days. Hopefully we'll get good info next week.

I believe Disney made it so MagicBand users could use their KTTW card in case they didn't want to use FP+; thus, you can use both at the same time.

I didn't see this in the thread so sorry if its a repeat:

1. I read from an online group that Cast Member at POP's front desk that they are in the testing phase for POP now, but when the testing phase is over, it will just be live at the resort. Has anyone else heard that and if so, who may know how long the current test phase lasts?

2. FP+ and parades - - does that option mean you get placed in a roped off area for that event?

1) I have no idea but the FP+ selections are not released any farther out then 9/28 so take that how you will

2) yes. There are several threads discussing FP+ use experience with descriptions and some have photos of the areas.

This would be great. I just made my FP+ reservations and ordered the Magic Bands and have been wondering if we could also still get regular fastpasses on top of that. Not that I normally would have more than 3 fastpasses per day anyway, but I was thinking what if we wanted to be a little more spontaneous, if we would still be able to get regular ones. I hope someone can confirm this.

I didn't see any difference in the availability of FP-. I was able to get good times and all the attractions I wanted. The crowds in the 2nd and 3rd were great then all the sudden Sunday the 4th were crazy crowds at MK. I'm sure it was probably due to EMH that night but we always finish at MK so off we went. We still got everything we wanted to in and in only a 4 day trip. Also I probably saw 20 bands the entire trip.

but I'm not going until 10/2014 so hopefully the bugs will be worked out by then, but I'm actually looking forward to wearing the magic band instead of pulling out my room key every time I want to eat something! :rotfl: We are getting the quick service dining plan and I think it will be easier to just wave my band then dig out my room key. And I can go to the pool at the Beach Club without having to bring my room key, which will be nice (assuming it's waterproof)

I am not thrilled about fast-pass +, but it is what it is.

I'm looking forward to it too. I go Sept12 and we may not get to use it but I also am planning on going Oct 24-29 and again for 5 days or so in Dec so hopefully I'll get to use it one of those times.
I'll complain if it does not work but for now, I am just waiting to see what happens.

We are part of the test in 2 weeks, just down for 1 night and a day at MK before school starts, but I am excited for MB and FP+ - we have only done ETwB 1 time when it was just myself and DD4 - haven't been up for running of Belles at RD and couldn't do the wait with DD2, but FP+ makes it doable for us! Also, meeting princesses is always big and we like to do it late afternoon as we leave the park but such a pain to try to send a FP runner at the right time to grab FP. Now we have FP+ for 3:30-4:30 so can see Mickey, Princesses, and say see ya real soon! For us with a little one, we will do baby swap for mountains and save FP+ for rides without FP- or a couple of our must-dos (Princess Meet and Winnie the Pooh for DD2).
