Here is a good blog report that answers some common questions about the new system.

Pretty DANG good report, still doesn't answer some KEY questions, the blogger even notes for instance that their experience probably isn't reflective of what a real FP+ booking will be like, since there were such limited participants.

Also still NEED to know, can you pull additional FP+s on the same day on top of your 3 pre-selected, this is such an important question and we have yet to get a straight answer.

Currently no. It is 3 per day and that's it. MK is also giving a 4th but I've only seen that pop up when I book a parade or fireworks spot not when I book 3 rides.

Does anyone know if rides that previously did not offer FP but now have become part of the FP+ test (like HM, POTC, etc), will have regular FP available to people who are not part of the test? (will they be necessary?!)

No, they won't. FP+ only. The signs at the rides say "FastPass+ Entrance". Those rides have no paper FP machines.

I'm a bit confused on how My Disney Experience works and the process of linking tickets. I have a trip coming up at the end of August and MDE has my dining reservations but they want me to link my tickets. Would I qualify for Magic bands if I do this or will I still have to use the ones I currently bought back in April? I'm just afraid to link my tickets and have Disney lose them in their system or something. Has anyone else done this and was able to get Magic bands and do FP+ with just tickets and not a disney resort stay(I'm staying at the Swan)?

I'm confused and don't want to do something to make my first day at the parks complicated.

Basically will linking my tickets with Disney complicate things or make it easier for me if I do it? I have the green card tickets, 3 day one park tickets.

Don't link your tickets--there is no benefit yet. MagicBands are currently only for those who are explicitly invited to receive them by Disney during this test phase.

Here's the deal.

Do you need to link tickets to be eligible for MagicBand? No, you don't. I was able to get my MagicBand without linking tickets.

Do you need to link tickets to be eligible for FastPass+? Yes, you can only make FastPass+ selections if you link tickets to your MDE account.

If you aren't using MagicBand, I wouldn't link your tickets, that way you can double dip from FastPass machines by using both your paper ticket and KTTW.

This may have already been asked so I apologise in advance if it has!!!
Is there anyway to link tickets to MDE that are bought from Thomson travel agents in the uk?

If you have a Magicband during the test, can you get paper fp's using your KTTW card on top of the fp+ experiences you sign up?

I believe so, they did this so people who wanted to try the MagicBands didn't have to use FP+. However, I don't think Disney wants you to use both, but you can, they won't know.

We are on the trial and can get both fastpass and fastpass+ for all the rides. We can even get fastpass passes on our key to the world for our 2 year old who does not have a paid ticket. 4 passes for the price of 3, but I assume this is a **** up on Disneys part. It does allow our 5 year to go on a the big rides twice with mum and dad :cool1:

You do know you can get a rider switch pass since your 2 yr old is likely too small for the big rides. Wasn't sure if you knew that.

Thank you this is exactly the information I was looking for! :thumbsup2

Doesn't seem since I'm staying at the Swan I'm able to get Magic bands(which is a shame since I would have liked to try it and was one of the few people that was excited about the announcement). Since that is the case I will not link my tickets and just show up with my regular park tickets. Thank you for the response though, Disney is frustrating since I could not find any information on their site about the benefits of linking tickets or not linking tickets so unless there is a benefit I'm not doing it.

Yes, but it is interesting that they have the 2yo a KTTW card. They've never done that before.

Hmm...I've missed that. But could get get Fastpasses before?

No, never. They have had to unlink the KTTW cards from the system it seems to accommodate them being used in the FP machines in lieu of entry media. Since the 2 systems don't talk to each other, there isn't really another way to do that.

I've heard the YC is currently one of the test resorts - do all guests staying there get invited to test, or just a sample few?

It appears that everyone staying at a test resort, including YC, during August is invited, although if you call IT they tell you you are only invited if you receive the email.
