Surely as Magicbands are only currently for resort guests they wont be removing the machines any time soon otherwise they would annoy a lot of people. Long term they might but I doubt it until they start selling Magicbands for offsite guests

MagicBands are not required to use Fastpass+. Only an RFID card and an MDX profile (and the latter might not be necessary for very simple operation for day visitors, etc.) - and, for now, it being activated for you. So if they activate it for everyone, they can potentially get rid of the old system.

I've heard a few people (on the CSR Facebook group) staying at CSR in October that have received magic bands / FP+ so has Coronado now been added to the tests? I can't see any mention of it on here though.

See this thread:

Current List of Resorts Testing MyMagic+ System

I have a question about adding tickets with NE to a magic band. We are going for one night next month and then again in the spring for a week. I have old ticket media to use and some new 10 day NE tickets(PH and not). What happens to the ticket, does it just stay on that band? (For example, if I use up park days are my plus options still going to be on the band).
Also, there are days I might want to use a PH day and other times I don't need a PH....can I have two bands?
Count me in as someone who is a little nervous about this new stuff!

In theory, yes the ticket will remain available on the band. Who knows what IT glitch will affect actual practice.

You can (and should) still keep the original ticket media though and it should still work along with the band. Bring it along when you go to use your next NE day just to have a backup so you don't have to hold up lines if something goes wrong.

In fact, they are doing initial cast member testing, simulating off-site guests using FastPass+, using ordinary plastic ticket media (with RFID chips obviously) today and tomorrow.

I just checked with WDW reservations and the IT group this morning. They seemed to confirm that Magic Bands and FP+ are going live for all resorts by 11/1.

I wonder if this means no more "double dipping" in November?

Been hoping since August to use FP- and FP+ for our October trip, but with what looks to be all the resorts now going live and your report....not so sure that FP- will be available now by the time we are there in late October.

I'm starting to wonder why they are still emailing/mailing out "test" letters/emails to October people....as this does not appear to very soon be a "test" anymore.

Just my guess / opinion, but I think they won't get rid of the current FP system (including FP+ guests) until FP+ rolled out to all resorts and off-site guests. Who knows if they'll even hit the rumored 11/1 rollout for the resorts? ... Although it sounds like they may hit it based on how many folks are posting since yesterday. Are there any resorts now missing from October testing?

My issue is that many of us who were just added to the test have a much smaller window to book our FP+. It's like being told to make dining reservations at 30 days out when you're competing with the 180 day crowd. I think they need to keep the standard FP system in place until everyone is atleast on a level playing field.

On site now. FP+ has worked without any glitches and yesterday was able to change multiple experiences and times.

This morning went to change a time as soon as I got up. Was very surprised that the new times being offered for the same experience but later in the day were only 10 minutes windows. Could it be in the future that the standard hour will not exist, especially for "day of" changes? Does that mean that the attraction is almost "full regarding FP+ allotment"?

Just found it curious.

What if we're park hopping for the day? What happens with making FP+ for 3 attractions, when sometimes the times are too spread out? I see there are other options of times, but I was wondering if you've made FP+ for one park, are you done for the day? I would've liked the option to say, pick 2 for one park & 1 for another later in the day..anyone?

The advice window for testing is meant to be 18 days, which fits in well with us seeing resorts due to start on 30 Sept coming onto the system last night.

Bear in mind that as far as Disney is concerned these are still tests, no one is forced to use FP+ at all, so they'll still have a good amount of capacity held back for regular on-the-day Fast Passes. If you're not happy with the availability window of the test, don't use it.

I'm really not looking forward to when this is fully live for all guests (resort and day-guest) as once that happens my gut feeling is that availability for all of the headliners will be awful for anyone who can't plan 60 days out.

I haven't been able to find my answer so I am wondering if you all could help. We go to Disney with grandma and grandpa (who are not big ride people) and have used their fast passes for our kids to go on the ride twice in the past. We just became eligible for fast pass+/magic bands (which I am totally excited about! :) so would my kids be able to my parent's bands to let them in on the ride or would my parent's fastpasses just be wasted?

I haven't had my trip yet, but from making my FP+ selections, the one thing I really wish they'd do is separate the rides from the entertainment/character experiences.

For our particular group, we "have" to use our selections for things like parades, Fantasmic, and the Princesses, otherwise we'll probably never do those things, or it'll be so miserable with the waiting that it wouldn't be much fun (again, this is based on our particular group composition!).

Having only 3 FP+ selections per day is really not enough in my opinion, especially compared to the old system. I hate to have to use all of my FP+ choices on shows and character meets, with nothing left over for rides.

If they were to at least put all of the character meets and shows in one category, and allow maybe 2-3 of those per day, then put the rides in a separate category and allow maybe 4 of those each day, that would be perfect!

As of now, you can only do 1 park per day. That doesn't mean that is how it officially will be when everything is out of test mode. So just because certain rules are in place now (incl. only having 3 passes per day), doesn't mean that is how it will officially be once test mode is over.

What do you mean "double dipping?"

Up until this point, those who are testing the system with Magic Bands have also been receiving KTTW cards which work in the regular FP machines to give out paper FPs. Thus, the visitor is able to get a set of FP+s as well as paper FPs.

But at some point, they may stop giving us the KTTW card in addition to the Magic Band. Though the old FP machines will surely stay for a while (for those without Magic Bands), those of us with Magic Bands may not be able to get paper FPs any more.

We probably won't get any notice from Disney as to when this will occur (since they haven't acknowledged that double-dipping is now possible), so as a November visitor, I'm going to be monitoring these FP+ threads between now and then to see what happens.

Is there somewhere to see what FP+'s are being offered at each park and by category? I know this is sometimes in flux (eg. parades & fireworks being offered, not being offered) Also I've read that BOG is found somewhere besides the usual selection window for FP+'s? Is it included in your allotment of 3? We're outside of our 60 days, so I can't see any of this on the website yet, but I'd like to get an idea of how it's all set up so I can think about some planning. Thnx!

so would my kids be able to my parent's bands to let them in on the ride or would my parent's fastpasses just be wasted?

No reason why not I'd have thought. You could even give the kids the backup KttW cards, as I would expect those should trigger the FP+ info too? (not sure about that though)

The only possible problem I can see is when the CMs address the kids as Gladys and Bert.... :)
