Myers-Briggs Personality Types

Scary accurate :scared1::

INFJ - The "Confidant" Jungian Personality Types

INFJs, making up an estimated 1% of all people, are the most rare type (males even more so). They are introspective, caring, sensitive, gentle and complex people that strive for peace and derive satisfaction from helping others. INFJs are highly intuitive, empathetic and dedicated listeners. These traits tend to act as a "tell me what's wrong" sign on their forehead, hence the nicknames Confidant, Counselor or Empath. INFJs are intensely private and deeply committed to their beliefs.

I teach at a community college and I use the Myers Briggs test in my classes - I love it and my students usually do too. It is extremely accurate.

I am an ESFJ (Supporter) and I tend to be drawn to other people who are too. Some of my favorite people are fellow ESFJs. My DH is an ISTJ and we are a good match.

What a coincidence! I picked up another copy of "Please Understand me" at lunch today!
I was an ENFP in 1992 (high school) - the same in 1994 - and pretty much the same in 1999 ( I fudged it a little because it was close).
Today - I'm an EXFJ!!!!!!
The X is when you're exactly in between two choices.
How did I change on two levels in such a little amount of time?
I haven't read up on my new possible personality types - but I'm mourning the loss of my ENFP comfort zone.

I actually use planning a trip to Disney as an example when I explain the difference between being a "P" and a "J" in my classes.

A "P" just goes with the flow and enjoys being there and a "J" plans every detail of the trip - where they are going to eat, what rides they are going to ride, etc. I think the Dis has more "J"s. :rotfl:

LOL, I am definitely more of a "J" until I get there, and then I turn into a "P".

I would say that is true of me too. I love to plan but when I get there I am just so happy I go with whatever happens.

I always joke with my students that everyone likes the MB because all the descriptions are so positive. There aren't any types that say anything like, "your abrasive personality is challenging to others" or "others find you quite bossy and controlling".

I'm an ESFJ. I like to take care of people. According to a book I read, the motto for my type is "what can I do for you?" Very true! I also like to get things done. I don't dwell on decisions. I just do it.

My husband, on the other hand, is an INTP - the exact opposite of me.

Several years ago, I worked as an exec asst to a CEO. He had a consultant come in to work with our fairly new management team. This guy worked on the original exam (but he wasn't Mr. Myers or Mr. Briggs). He administered the test to everyone on the team and my boss said I should take it too, if I wanted to. My husband had taken one at his company.

So I asked this expert, "What are the implications of an ESFJ being married to an INTP." He said, "Well, he's always going to be kind of out there...drifting around...dreaming. And you want answers now!" That's our relationship in a nutshell. But it must be OK since we've been married for 21 years!

Actually it was a mother(Katharine Cook Briggs) & daughter(Isabel Briggs Myers) duo. I can't remember which type I am, but whichever one it was I think it's only about 5% or less of the population.

agnes!

I'm an INFP too - The Dreamer.

I was amazed at how acurate it was, especially reading the expert quotes about INFPs. I'd be curious to know what DH is, I'll have to ask him to do the test...
