Mydisney experience without nagic bands

If a Florida resident buys a ticket weeks before they go to the park can they still use MyDisney Experience app to schedule their fast pass? Or only if they have a magic band from previous trip?

The below applies to NOT having your upcoming stay booked at a WDW.

1- Not yet.
2- Not even that, AFAIK.

I was able to add my new ticket and book fast pass plus for future date I thought it was because I had MB from trip in January

What happens if you link a ticket bought outside park on MDE and are not staying on property, has anyone tried?

1- That's true of AP holders. I have not heard that it will hold for non-AP's.

2- If you can't make advance FP+, you can make them day-of, at the park.

Day of at the park may be too late unless they save some fast plus for day of off site visitors because right now first available time for toy story via the app Is 6:20 on March 1

Two things:

1- That's one of the big problems with advance FP+, popular rides running out of FP+ before arrival day at the park.

2- (However) it appears (just from observation) that they are holding a certain amount of FP+ back to be released the "day-of" at the park.
