So I have a kitty--he has FIV. I have 4 other kitties and they pretty much don't like him. Today Vet suggests FELIWAY. One of the techs says she uses it at home and the difference is night and day. My long wanting to escape kitty--is sitting mellow in the same room as this stuff--like he's meditating. He keeps going up to the diffuser and sitting near it. They say it gives off the "Happy" kitty phermones--some hormones that are on kitty mouths. Basically using this stuff makes him happy.
What is said is we were about ready to consider Euthanisia b/c of his FIV. He gets out frequently (it is a behavioral issue that is hard to control). Vet said it might be b/c he is not feeling the love. A few weeks ago he got a puncture wound in his paw from a fight. Long story short--treatment didnt' work and we went back today. B/c of his FIV--they suspect it takes him longer to heal. So today we go back they think the infection is in his bone. Get stronger meds to fix that. Vet also recommends the happy hormone.
So if you have behavioral issues with your kitties--multicat househould---marking problems, scratching problems---I have been assured that this stuff works and instead of scratchign my usual chair and stalking to escape--my cat is sitting all zen like in the living room.
Hopefully this stays that way b/c I really didn't want to put the poor critter to sleep. And unfortunately with his behavioral issues and b/c of his disease--it is the one case where it is recommended if the behavior cannot be corrected.
So hopefully the Kitty Yoga Drug continues working.
