We have a friend who's father is very terminal with cancer and they are expecting him to pass on at any moment. Anyway he called John and asked if he could bring some ice from our ice maker to his house. So John goes outside to clean out our coolers and he let Cairo go with him.

Now Cairo NEVER EVER goes outside without us and its only for 5-10 minutes at a time and ALWAYS where we can keep our eyes on her at all times.

So John cleaned the coolers and left. in the meantime it starts POURING Rain. I didn't know he had let Cai out with him .... so the phone rings and John....frantically says "I left Cai out and its raining...go get Cai!"

Yes um-humm you don't love them as much as me...um-hummm I believe you!

She was at the back door and he hadn't been gone 5 minutes...LOL!

LOL... Luis claimed he didn't care for cats... you ought to see the way he treats the girls with hugs & kisses and playing with them. He hates cats...... sure he does ;)

Well, DH was the one who turned me onto cats.:teeth: When we were dating this handsome all white cat came walking down the hall to meet me, his name was Boy. I've been hooked ever since.:D

Mary Jo tell Perry I have gained new respect for him!

Elaine I could have sworn it was a man thing, that it just isn't cool to let everyone know that you adore cats.....I guess men are supposed to love dogs or something....

John has babied every single cat I have! Cairo is his BABY though.

awww:( SIMBA!

GG,

In my house there is plenty of pattering going on in the kitty department, we have

Lester,
Cairo (THE QUEEN)
Mindy-Lou
Diamond
Cinders
Dootsie
Isis
and Meeko

Wow, I used to be embarrassed to say I had 9. Then it was 8 and now sadly it is 6. Another is starting to fail. She is 17 and the sweetest cat alive. It is so hard having all these really old cats and watching them go one by one. I just don't know how much more I can take. Right now I have 2 that are 17, 1 is 16, 2 are 13 and the baby is 10.

I am looking at a life time of caring for my terripins. One is 4 and one is 3. I think they can live really long.

My DH loves my furbabies as much as I do and so do my 3 boys.

Lets see,

Cairo is 8

Mindy and Lester are both 6

Diamond is 3

Cinders and the new baby Meeko are both 1 or a little over

Dootsie was born Feb. 18th so she is a little over 4 months

Isis was born March 9th so he is almost 4 months.

And I love all 8 of the to pieces!!

DH doesn't like the boys. He certainly doesn't pet them ever. Or let Tycho sleep with him on the couch. Or play with them. Or feed them treats. Or nuzzle Wedge. Nope, he hates them. At least when I'm watching. :p

Wedge is a little over 2 and Tycho is, well, 2 or 3ish. I want a third so much!

I know how you feel! I would have a zillion if I could afford them....but with 8 I feel like I have reached my capacity for showing them one on one attention.

Lester likes no one but my mom so its really like I only have 7 to care for because Lester won't have anything to do with me or John.

Meeko slept in the bed with us last night...I got him to play a little by putting my hand under the covers. WOW! When he bats your hand its like a 10 pound weight..LOL! I for once am glad he was declawed.

I don't have that problem at all. DH loves cats as much as I do, so that works out. :D

Now Bob the fish on the other hand... he claims he *hates* fish, but the week he was here before DH left for his conference, he was checking on Bob almost as much as I was, and *he's* the one who taped Bob's tank lid closed because Sienna was trying to get in the tank. If he hated fish so much, I'm surprised he didn't let Sienna get Bob. ;)

As for our kitties, it's just the two now. :( Skye and Sienna and they are quite a pair! And they've been Velcro at night the past few nights since DH has been gone. Poor kitties -- first the stress of losing Blaze and now DH being gone and they don't understand. Poor kitties.

We are going to be getting another kitten in the not-to-distant future, though. Have everything arranged with a new breeder, she said as soon as we're ready just watch her website for available kittens and name the one we want and he's ours as long as he's not already taken. :) So we're planning a Nov/Dec/Jan new addition I think. Assuming, of course, Skye and Sienna stay healthy.

You sound like me Tammi....I can't remember if it was this board or not that I mentioned this but when I got Meeko he was covered and I mean COVERED in fleas. His poor little eyes were running so badly that he couldn't even see.

I was so mad!! And the lady who he was living with said he slept with her DD! I can't imagine!! I would hate to see her house. Now you know this cat doesn't understand why he feels bad and its because he isn't being taken care of!!! So I drove 95 home to get him to the vet before it closed. He is on Amoxil and Eye meds and he got Advantage and a shot that got rid of the fleas immediantly. And after...lets see got him Tues...so Tues night, twice Wed and Thur...so after 3 days of eye meds you can't even tell they were running.

Why do people do this to babies!! If she couldn't afford them why did she take them....Okay I'm venting and on a roll but Flea medicine is NOT that expensive and if you can't afford Advantage then go to Wal-Mart and buy a $3 bottle of flea shampoo.

The cat doesn't understand why he feels bad!! UUGGHHH!!

And when Isis passed away Cinders missed him so badly and it was so sad!!

Anyway which breeder are you going through? I would love to look! I love looking at kitty sights!

How horrible Beth! I can't believe she let them get so badly out of hand! And then to let the cat sleep with her daughter with that many fleas???? Poor things, both of them!

I'm really surprised Skye and Sienna aren't missing Blaze any more than they are. He took care of both of them when they first joined the "colony", but they did watch him sick for 3 weeks and had pretty much given up on him a week before we did, so I guess that made it easier for them. They've only gone looking for him a time or so, and Sienna does it more than Skye does. :(

Here's the new breeder. She comes highly recommended from friends in the Siberian community, unlike Blaze's breeder who isn't really known.

We're not going to take one from her current litters, but we might get one from either her next litter (due in a couple of months I think?) or the one after that, not sure. :D I'd kinda like another red boy just because that's my favorite coloration, and she said if we wanted to hold out for a red that'd be most likely to come in the second litter. And that would be good timing for us, too.

Yep - Wedge and Tycho are both from the shelter, and Tycho was covered in fleas and worse, infested with ear mites. I had to keep them separate for about a month until we could get Tycho's ears really cleaned out. (No one was to blame, though; he was a stray.)
Wedge just had the usual feas and slight cold, like most other shelter cats.
