UPDATE WITH PICTURES:
Thought I would give a status report. This has been taking me longer than I thought. However, since my DH is overseas this year, its been a good distraction. At the same time, I've taken on purging the house & holding a yardsale, planning a trip with friends, and revamping our household office systems & record keeping. WHAT WAS I THINKING?! LOL
My parents came up & helped with the sewing & IKEA cabinet building. The bones of the room are done. I still have stuff to unpack & put away. Pictures to hang. And just pretty it up. The pics were taken while in progress with my iPhone, so they aren't great & the room is a mess while doing it. LOL
Wow! Looks great and I'm jealous! I'd love to have an entire room to myself. I currently have one corner of the living room and am quickly outgrowing it.
Its not as pretty as some of the rooms I've seen here & online. I would loved to have painted but we hate painting. And there wasn't anytime before DH left.
I was going for function before anything else. My previous furniture & arrangement had me feeling very claustrophobic. I have room to work now, and office storage & closet storage all within a couple of steps.
Its not going to make any magazines, but that's ok. It is what it is.
Thank you. Those were what I was going for. CLOSED storage most of all. I've done the open storage route before and it doesn't work for me. It clutters my mind. And I can't clean & dust all that stuff. This time I wanted doors! lol
I completely agree about closed storage - there are too many bits & pieces to get dusty. I did a mini scraproom makeover in January and the last thing I need to do is work out something to store my paper. Right now it's in those cropper hopper boxes sitting on a counter but I need to find something I like where it's covered or something.
Just found this thread and I'm so excited for you and your new scrapping room! I know you say it won't be much...but I've taken over the tiny little kitchen area of our apartment and currently work out of tupperware bins. I have a long plastic table my mom bought me a few years ago (I just ditched the kitchen table altogether and we eat at snack trays in the living room now...) and my Cricut is set up on a spare snack tray. I can't wait to buy a house and have an actual craft room!
And I had to laugh at the fact that us CT'ers identify where we live in the state by which baseball team we favor...funny but true!
