i go to a lady doctor. after years of not going to the doctor when i hit the big 40 i decided i better go get checked out so i made an appointment with a lady doctor. i purposely looked for a lady doctor, no man is going to touch me.
she seems like shes a good doctor she spends more than enough time with her patients. so what do you think?

"No man is going to touch me"? I think they both have issues...unless this "doctor" concludes every exam with a "happy ending", then, I'd say the wife might have cause for alarm.

The sex of the doctor should not be an issue. IMO your wife's problem sounds like insecurity and immaturity. Most doctors are so busy seeing so many people I am sure we are just another body to try to heal or examine. Nothing more.

Honestly, I think you're both a little nuts. I think your dw is nuts to think that just because you have a female Dr., that you're somehow cheating on her, however it does seem very strange (and almost like you see going to the Dr. differently than most) by saying that "no man is going to touch me." Really???? It seems very odd to me. It's like you both somehow see going to the Dr. is/could be something more than just going to the Dr.

It almost seems like they are both making going to the doctor seem sexual. OP, you do realize that every time you see a doctor you don't have to strip off your clothes and turn your head and cough, right? Why would you not want a male doctor evaluating your for a cough, or headaches or any other normal thing that people see a doctor for? Are you this paranoid about other men "touching" you in your everyday life?

Seriously? Does she really think you're cheating? Why would she say that? If she is a good doctor I would think that overrides your wife's personal feelings. Is she always this paranoid? and is there some history of past cheating, perhaps? Before I weigh in against your wife I think I'd like to know if she might have some reason for feeling so strongly.

ETA: I understand the whole "I don't want a male/female doctor touching me." I have some past abuse issues and I will NOT have a man touch me unless there is no other choice. Preferring one gender over another doesn't mean you're homophobic.
