Made ADR's a few weeks back, and managed to keep them. My Guest (Mickey's Sunshine) and I arrived early for our 12:30pm ADR and was seated almost immediately. :thumbsup2 Our waiter was Steven and as I had read in another post, he did NOT write anything down. :confused3 I was a little worried as the other Poster had remarked how that waiter got everything wrong, and was very slow. :guilty: I warned MS and told her I hope this wasn't going to be a disaster. However, he was OK, and I ordered the "Chef's Special" which was shrimp over a Baked Potato with a Salad, and MS ordered the chicken dish.....both were very good. ;) However, this was the strange part.....there were NO salt and Pepper shakers on ANY of the tables. :confused3 Lucky for me, I brought my own! :thumbsup2( My DH ordered some tupperware over the internet, and received this cute mini salt and pepper container for free. I filled one side with Pepper the other side with salt, and had stuck it in my purse!) MS thought it was neat-o! :teeth: The lunch was nice and relaxing, and I also got a Cheesecake dome for dessert. It had some yucky grapefruit sauce over it, which made us not finish it. :rolleyes1 Other than that, it was good! :thumbsup2

Can anyone else confirm the no salt and pepper??

I LIVE on salt and pepper and I freak out if there isn't any.

Maybe they were just refilling them and forgot to put them back out? I can't imagine a restaurant w/o salt and pepper!

OK the part that I am loving is that it was your husband ordering Tupperware off the internet!!! You know when we went they had a Salt and Pepper guy. You know "would you like some pepper?" But I'm with you just have some on the table please. Hmm but as I am a pepper addict I am thinking I need that little S&P container!

Ok, need salt & pepper shakers.

This is one of our ADR's for lunch. My older son and his best friend are excited about this one! :teeth:

Actually, he is on the "Quick Weight Loss Diet" and needed some small containers for his "special" Salad Dressing. Instead of looking at the grocery store, he decided to look on Ebay...hey, its where he found my Mickey watch! :confused3 Anyway, about 20.00 bucks later, he got 2 of these s/p containers and his has the fake salt and mine has the real salt/pepper! (By the way, he has lost 15 pounds!)

Hey GREAT for him!!!! He is my kind of guy..decides to do something and actually does it!! Go Mr. Poohbear :cheer2:

Hi! My name is Robin and I am a Salt Monster. Many high end restaurants do not provide them on the table. However, you can always ask your server for salt and pepper. You don't need to bring your own ... like my mother!

I remember when we went to Mama Melrose in November 2005, there were no salt and pepper shakers on the tables either. My grandmother puts salt on everything, so she asked for some salt before the food even came. Our waitress told us that the chef prefers that NO salt and pepper be on ANY tables while he is working- I'm not sure if every chef at Mama Melrose's is like that, but she said he was!!! Anyway, I got the Chicken Parmesean and it did NOT need it at all anyways, it was fantastic!!!!

My dad works with some chefs at work and he said that sometimes they get insulted when customers ask for salt & pepper...???? If someone uses it, they usually want to know why..But no chef came out and asked us.

Yes...we ate for the first time at Coral Reef a few weeks ago. There were no salt and pepper shakers....and I think it is like Mama Melroses...the chef prefers to season the dishes. We loved our food and both ordered the special--shrimp over baked potato with a salad. It was delicious.

Artist Point does not have s&p either. Chef Lenny doesn't like them on his tables either. Being a s&p fanatic though, I was surprised that I didn't require it at all though.

A lot of chefs prefer no salt and pepper be provided. They figure they cook and season the food properly and it does not need any further seasoning. Obviously not all customers agree.

Has "fancy" salt/pepper shakers, I know I took a picture of them. ;)
