My very first post!!

Hi Everyone!!! I am so excited to finally be a member of the DIS. I have been reading the boards for quite a while now and haven't got a chance to register. But I am glad I finally did!!! I am so excited to go to Disney World!!! My boyfriend and I are going to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and his birthday! We are staying at Pop Century on December 15th-22nd! If anyone wants to meet up with us for drinks or whatnot let me know!! We love meeting new people!!! YAY!!!

Hi! Yes, we both have. I've been to Disney World a couple of times. I'd say about 6 or 7 times. My last time was in 2006. That was the only time I ever stayed in a Disney Resort. I stayed at Coronado. So I am excited to stay at my 2nd Disney Resort. My boyfriend on the other hand I think he's been to Disney 3 times maybe. The last time he was there was in 2002.

Well I know you both will definitely enjoy yourselves. As a Disney College Program Alumni I never took one day for granted while I worked there. So many people save up just to go to WDW and here I was enjoying it for free everyday. Even on my days off my roommates and I would go back to the park as guests enjoying everything.

Also PrincessHope84, since you're going in December the whole place will be decorated so beautifully. But do bring a light jacket cause I know how cold it can get in Dec and then warm up much later in afternoon.

Thank you!! Wow! That must have been an amazing experience! What did you do in the program? I was thinking of doing that back when I was in college. I should have done it! It sounds like it was awesome!

It was truly awsome! I was 19yrs old (I'm 29 now) and it was my first time away from home and I didn't miss home at all. Not I don't have a great family cause I do but I was just ready to try something new. There are 3 parts to the program: The Living Experience, The Learning Experinece, and The Working Experience. We have to complete some self directing learning activities and attend workshops to complete a portfolio book of our experience at the end of the program. I started as a merchandise hostess in the MK Mickey's Toon Town and moved onto characters. I would go back every year after my first just to keep my employee status with the company. I resigned about 3 or 4 years ago.

Sorry for the late reply. This system keeps timing me out. I don't know what the settings are but its starting to annoy me. If anyone knows if the timing out function can be changed let me know.

Discounts: WDW Resort Rooms 50%, Merchandise 30% or 40%, but I think 30% for sure.
