My Very First October 2012 PTR!! **APOLOGY FOR BAILING ON THIS PTR...**

Hiya Readers!
Feel like its still going slow- or maybe everyone is just getting back into the swing of things with the Holidays ending. Anywho- on to Day 2! :thumbsup2

Day 2- October 2nd, will be THE BIG BIRTHDAY!!! Ryan will be turning five on this day so literally anything he wants-within reason-he is getting! I took the liberty however of planning the rough outline of our day because let's be honest, he is only 4...

I plan on waking up for breakfast EARLY :scared1: (me and Ry=NOT MORNING PEOPLE)- in our hotel, probably just cereal for Ry and whatever anyone else wants. Possibly bagels? What is in the kitchenettes? Appliance wise? We're doing it in the room because we have a kitchenette and I fully plan on using it.
Why wake up early on a birthday? ....

THE TSM RUN!!! :yay: :cool1: I want to be at Hollywood Studios atleast 30 minutes before Rope Drop and make the run in time to hopefully get FPs and do stand-by. I personally don't care if the line is 45 minutes long- I feel like this may be the only ride that Ryan will truely enjoy. :yay:

Also I want to do Voyage of the Little Mermaid, The Beauty and The Beast Show, and ToT (without Ryan) and Muppet*Vision. Whew....

Some where in there we will break for lunch- where ever tickles our fancy. Suggestions welcome as I know they have few options for CS here. A probably stop at the Writer's Shop as well as my dad and Ryan's dad love sweets!

ALL of that I hope to accomplish by 5:30 (and if not we have another 1/2 day here) as I plan on having a 6 o'clock ADR for Chef Mickey's! This will be Ryan's birthday dinner and I hope to GOD he isn't terrified of the characters... :scared1: I don't think he will be though with everyone with him. Then since we are so close I hope we can head on over to MK for whatever we want (fireworks, parade, characters.... :confused3 )

Actually hoping there is no MNSSHP on his birthday- if we choose to do it I don't want it to be on the day of his birthday because I plan on letting him swim swim swim in the hotel pool when we leave the park and stay up as late as he wants OR head over to DTD (are they open later then the parks?) and taking him to whatever that big toy store is (where is this and what is it called?) to shop 'til his little hearts content. :cloud9:

So that is our basic outline, Ryan will be able to eat as many mickey head popsicles as he can, hopefully get some extra pixie dust :wizard:, swim and shop, and just have an allll around amazing 5th birthday!

Your plan looks good so far! My favorite DHS CS is Backlot, but I also like Rosie's :)

Downtown Disney is open fairly late (I want to say until midnight or 1am most nights), so you guys would definitely be able to do that after swimming in the afternoon :)

Your days sound great!! I think you'll be fine for timing on day 1, and Day 2 you should be perfectly fine and may be even ready to leave DHS a little early - maybe even have some swim time between DHS & CM's. IMO the timing to do things you mentioned would be about:

TSMM get FP's & ride - done by 9:40

go on ToT, done by 10

VotLM - done by 11

BatB - see 11:30 show

12:15 Eat lunch (IDK where, don't like any CS places at DHS)

Muppet Vision - done by 1:30-2

At this point, enjoy park some more or relax back at hotel for a while before dinner. Then you CM reservation, then MK. Downtown Disney is open pretty late, there's the World of Disney store I think you're referring to, plus Once Upon a Toy and the LEGO store.

It sounds like he's going to have a fantastic birthday! Hope you had a great holiday! I rarely go online when I'm home bc I hate my stupid laptop and don't like typing on my iphone, plus it gives me something fun to do at work :rotfl:

Hi Annie! I am stopping over from my PTR! Your plans sound great so far! I can't wait to read more about your trip. When I get back from mine I will need to live vicariously through your trip, as I am sure my Disney Blues will be setting in by then!

I LOVE YOU PTR!! My favorite thing to read is your Disney movie theme nights. We have to scale them back for Ry a little bit because he is not an adventurous eater..but look forward to seeing one soon on MY PTR!!

Thanks for comming over!!

Oh you are wonderful!! A timed schedule- I love it!! Thanks for all the advice. Aria's comming soon- a month??? Crazy! Can't wait to see pictures of the little love :lovestruc

Day 2 sounds good! We always eat at Pizza Planet when we're at DHS. Some people don't like Disney pizza but I don't mind it! :)

Thanks for the positive feedback! Love that Imagineer wrote out a probable time table (even though i messed up the quote when I gave her the shout-out for it)-- did you think the time-table was reasonable too?

Pizza Planet Sounds good but I want to do Pizzafari the next day :confused3 Is it the same kind of pizza (I suppose it is...)

I forgot to add in USING the FP for TSMM - LOL. But you should be able to fit that in anywhere in there, as it'll only be about 25 min. tops (that FP line can suck sometimes - generally takes 10 minutes or so just waiting in that line). My overall point is that you'll have plenty of time for all that you wanted to do, and can probably fit in a bit more (Star Tours, Indiana Jones show, or maybe the Lights Motors Action show which I bet Ryan would enjoy!).

Yep, same pizza!

The timetable looks good to me :thumbsup2

CS in AK: Pizzafari like you mentioned, Flame Tree BBQ (amazing if you like BBQ food), Restaurantsaurus - we ate here last year and I really liked it! Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head!

Today we made a $400 payment towards our trip and were pleasantly suprised to realize we had already paid off half our trip!!! HOLY COW!!!
 :cheer2:  :cheer2:
Anyway since we will probably be paid off a lot sooner then we thought we will have a lot of money for suveniors and are even more excited about taking Ryan on a D-town Disney shopping spree on the day of his birthday!! WOoHoO!

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

So on to our day 3 plans...

Since we plan on being up a little bit late the night before we are not rushing to go anywhere the next morning...I mean we are going somewhere...just not RUSHING. LOL- we ARE NOT having a break day with only 5 days! HECK NO!

We are going to head to Animal Kingdom this day....

I'm still worried about him liking or not liking the rides and the only must do I have for him at Animal Kingdom is the Safari-- which he will really really enjoy. This is part of the reason we aren't rushing there...Dinosaur and EE are definitely possibilities for Joe and I but if we don't get there that's O.K. with me :)

I also want to take Ry to all the character spots in AK, maybe the Lion King (is this in AK?) show and we are lunching at Pizzafari. Chicken ceasar salad and pizza-- yes please!

Hopefully we can get to Epcot early enough to enjoy a little bit of it before our hopeful 5-5:30 ressie at Akershus!! For a princess dinner for myself...this is the only treat I am insisting upon for myself...I thought about taking my dad with me to CRT but couldn't justify spending the extra credits on a dinner for myself that I wasn't bringing Ryan to. Solution- everyone is going to Akershus. Joe can look at the eye candy and Ryan loves the princesses so it's a win! :)

I am hoping and praying this is an MNSSHP night since this is seemingly the only night I could fit it in...I mean I GUESS I could the next night. Guess I really won't be sure until the hours come out...which may cause a rearrangement in the plans anyway....ughhhh. Uncertainty kills me :sad2:

Opinions, advice, input!?! Let me know!!

Joining in! We are also going in October! Your son is a cutie and i think 5 is a perfect age to go. Old enough to do most everything he wants, yet young enough to truly believe it all. i love the murals!

This thing is getting boring—so for all of you loyal readers, here is some actual planning. Any new readers, or lurkers- HELLO!!!!! And WELCOME!

So since we aren’t going at all during the weekend before or after our week, I really hope we get blessed with great EMH and low crowds! Also, while it isn’t yet a definite that we are attending… I hope there is a MNSSHP during that week if we decide to purchase tickets after we pay our balance down a little. Since it is so early in October and during the week, I’m worried they may not have one if we do choose to go.

Here are our (hopeful) first day plans!

We are flying out at 7am I believe. We live about 40 minutes from Philly International (even though we still live in the city!) so we will probably leave our house at about 5:20 … HOLY MOLY! Ryan and I especially are NOT morning people. Since my parents are driving and leaving the night before we have to find someone drive us to the airport. My parents will have most of the luggage, we will have carry-ons (1 for me, Ryan, and Joey) so we get to avoid checking our bags and getting our bags when we land in ORLANDO!!!! @ around 9!

Hopefully after hopping on the Magic Express and getting to AoA it will only be about 11-11:30. Does that sound reasonable? Or should I plan on it taking longer? After checking in we are hopping on the first bus that says MAGIC KINGDOM!!! And heading over to see that wonderful castle for Ryan’s first time!! I believe we are going to meet my cousin Dennis who lives in Florida as he has requested taking Ry on his first Dumbo ride.

Things we plan on doing in the morning half of our first day:
Columbia Harbor House for Lunch (3 CS meals)
-Space Ranger Spin
-Dumbo
-And Splash Mountain.
And some characters
And hopefully a parade!!!

At some point in the afternoon we are hoping to get two phone calls. One from the hotel saying our room is ready (if it wasn’t earlier) and one from my parents saying they have arrived! We are going to go to the room and hopefully take a small break.

I want to be back in the park by 5 or 6 for dinner at
Cosmic Rays or Pecos bills? (5 CS meals) – hopefully as long as my parents have arrived. Otherwise it’s just 3 again!
Then
-Jungle Cruise
-Peter Pan
-it’s a small world
And maybe -Pirates
And some fireworks

Does this seem like too much? I don’t really know…
Like I said hopefully some evening EMH! Fingers crossed.
Then bedtime in our “loud” cars suite!! Ahaha. Although I looked at pictures of the progress of the hotel and they showed some room pictures and it did not look as bright!

UHOH!!! If I am reading the crowd calander right it says this day for Magic Kingdom is a 7.9 :( I'm still going here because I just think this should be the first park but I have to remember to keep in mind I may not be able to get everything done in this park that first day- Which is fine because I have other half days here

Next Post

I think it is realistic to be in the park by 12-1230. Mondays are pretty busy at MK. If you are trying to see the afternoon parade, that is at 3. if you watch it on Main street, you'd probably be able to catch the bus and get back to your hotel by around 4. to be back at the park by 6 you'd have to leave the room by 5. I'm not sure i'd plan a break here for this day with arriving so late anyway.

Sounds fun! Just make sure to leave at least an hour for transportation in you are riding the Disney buses. I'm not sure if you are going to be in your parents car or not at this point. if driving i'm not sure how long to tell you. but at any rate, leave plenty of time.

Based on the calendar, i would guess that the MNSSHP date your week will be 10/4 Thursday and 10/5 Friday

Ughh I gave up! There were so many changes to our trip and possible cancelations that I just couldn't keep up.
My parents are not going anymore my sister is gettin married two days before and it was too much. I didn't write this in the intro but me and Joey are not together, havent been since Ryan was six months old. But we really wanted him to have ONE family vacation-- unfortunately me and Joey have not had the best year cooperation-wise.

WE ARE STILL GOING though...and I hope to write a TR when we get back.
