My vent with Lowes..

A few weeks ago we bought a clothes washer and dryer at our local Lowes, paid for it but didn't pick it up, said we would later.. In the mean time, we found the same exact set for about $150 cheaper at a local merchant and would prefer to buy local anyway.. So I went to Lowes and "returned it", even though I never picked it up..

The last few days we have rec'd a few phone calls from them reminding us that it needs to be picked up, I called them TWICE and explained what we did.. they are STILL calling us, the one guy that called was actually a little snotty and said "if you don't pick this up, they will have to write you a refind check and mail it out", guy that called this morning said they have a truck coming to our area today, if we want they would drop it off..

I am about ready to call and say "yes, please drop them off today"...
 
Haha... that would be a hoot if they delivered another set to you. You'd think they'd have better record keeping systems there.
 
Think of the episode of Rosanne where they had the same stove or fridge delivered like three times. They sold it and kept the money. I am not encouraging you to do this but it is what it reminds me of.
 
This is too funny and at least it seems as if the error is in your favor.

My only suggestion is, if you used a credit or debit card, just double check to make sure they actually credited your account for the return.
 

The return clerk didn't know what they were doing. First of all (if they didn't) they should have offered to beat the other store's price by 10%.

Then, they refunded AN item but it wasn't the one the store had tagged as YOUR item.

We're in the middle of purchasing things for our new home, and Lowe's told us about the 10% off thing if we found the exact same item for less at another store. They would call and verify the price, then give it to us for 10% less.

I understand wanting to buy local though. We ended up getting kitchen cabinets through Lowe's, but bought all our appliances locally.
 
we've had trouble with Lowes returning or exchanging things. Their process is awful. Good luck!!
