I just need to say this somewhere, since I can't say it IRL,

If you're going to tell me I'm wasting time on Facebook, you better be darn-tootin sure that you're not spending 2+ hours everyday watching TV, okey dokey?

I have someone like this in my life who likes to laugh at people who spend any amount of time on FB. I always hear "who has time for that" "get a life" etc. This same person watched 2 movies and a hockey game yesterday. And how exactly did that enhance her life?

Sheesh, I get so sick of judgmental people.

I agree with you.

I have a friend that complains about not having enough hours in the day to get everything done but she finds time to post every move she makes on facebook. That bugs me.

Now go waste more time on facebook.:goodvibes

my dh and sil both USED to complain about face book until I...
DH-made him a FB page....now he is obsessed! :lmao:
SIL-every time I saw her I would say are you ready for FB? And she would say no, I don't have time for that. She also is a foster parent and their last foster is friends with me on FB so one day I said..."OMG do you know what my foster neice is doing?" so SIL could'nt stand it anymore so we made her a page! :lmao: Now she "finds time" for FB

Hey, you stole my argument! :rotfl: I hardly ever watch t.v. and when I try to find something to watch there is nothing out there. I do spend lots of time on Facebook and Disboards, though. To me, my spending time on-line is no worse than other people who watch hours on end of t.v.

:thumbsup2 I totally agree.

It cracks me up when people say stuff like that. I especially love the ones who carry on about what a waste of time Facebook is . . . and they're saying it on the Dis, where they have thousands of posts. Everybody wastes time somehow, whether it's Facebook, Twitter, television, video games, message boards or anything else that isn't strictly necessary. I think it's hilarious how some people think their activities are more "worthy" uses of time than things like Facebook are. It's so hypocritical! :lmao:

I totally agree. I get so tired of some people who think they are so high and mighty because they aren't on facebook.

Can I also complain about those who take the high stance on cell phones?

Whenever I'm at a kids' event and I take out my blackberry to text my other daughter or my husband to check in with them, there's always someone there ready with a long-winded vent about how everyone is so attached to their cell phones and waste so much time on cell phones.

I've always been an avid reader and would in the past carry a book in my purse to read while waiting for kids and people would look impressed and ask me what I'm reading. Now, I read on my blackberry or kindle and people roll their eyes and lecture me about society today wasting time on electronic devices. I'm doing the exact same thing, reading a book, but somehow a paper book is socially acceptable but having an electronic device makes me the lowest of society?

I totally agree with you! I have a couple co-workers who think it's ridiculous that I read books on my iphone with the B&N app. I don't get it. What's the difference, except they're still lugging around a book every day, and I'm not? :confused3

Maybe they are just "jealous" or maybe they can't afford to read on the latest technology and that is killing them every time they see you with something that they may long for and can't have :confused3
