We have an Oldsmobile. A 1999 Oldsmobile Sihouette. I really think it is time to trade it in but it has some special features for my DS who is a special needs child. the mileage it low but.........I should have taken advantage of the lemon law when we first got it. We had it in the shop 8 times in the first year/year and a half for the air bag light being on. It has been fixed 18 times for the airbag light. It comes on the first time you use the air conditioning or the heat in the year. It comes on usually in May and then again in Nov...they fix it (Per-tensioner, seat belt something or other, connection etc) it is ok for a few months and then it goes back on and stays on. I had to pay for it 3 times the rest they have paid for. The big pain is it takes them awhile to fix it leaving me with no car for DS to use. It has happened a couple of other times also. It just goes on and stays on. I don't know if it will just go off or if it wont go off in case of and accident that is why we can't ignore it. I also have no idea if they are really fixing it or just making a temporary fix until the next time it happens. The dealer now knows when I call and they take it in and try to get it back as soon as possible. My nisghbor says it is not legal to drive with a airbag light on????? They can't give me a van to borrow they are not fixed up for DS. Oh well, it could be a lot worse. although it is $$ it could have been more $$$$ I should be thankful we have the van in the first place.
