My vacuum cleaner ate my new carpet

While vacuuming my stairs with my bissell upright, as I was using the hand attachment and set the cleaner on the stair, it ate the carpet. I now have 3 different spots where the carpet has been matted and has been pulled out. So do I contact Home Depot (who installed the carpet), the carpet manufacturer or Bissell?

Well its not home depots problem they did what they were contracted to do, probably not the carpet man. since its not a defect with the carpet.. maybe bissell? but if I did this I'd call it an expensive mistake on my part

We have a carpet cleaning and repair. You can get it retufted. It is putting fibers back in the carpet.

I've done that ... right after we moved into our new house.

I'm afraid they probably won't do anything for you b/c you aren't suppose to put the vacuum on the steps ... remember, I did this too ... but it's not made for that.

You can probably get it repaired easily enough for a price ... especially if you have any left over carpet from when it was installed.

I did the same thing. You can't leave a vacuum cleaner constantly running in the same spot - it will eat your carpet. It isn't Home Depot's fault, or Bissell's fault, it is your fault, just like it was my fault when I did it.
