My UPS package I'm shipping today is 53pds.

I know many people do this, and I am sure I will get flamed for this. But - don't you think Disney will eventually stop allowing this. If everyone shipped a 50 pound box prior to their trip, where would they put all these boxes. They would need additional staff to deliver, and who is responsible for the deliveries. What happens if something is missing?

Everything listed in this instance can be put in a suitcase, or purchased in Florida, it's not like WDW is some deserted island somewhere in the South Pacific. I (and I mean I - this is just my opinion) think its selfish to ask WDW Resorts to be responsible for people belongings even for 1 day let alone 2-3. I can understand a flat envelope delivery or something, but not a huge box.

I will go on to say, during holidays or birthdays that also is a different situation. But for just everyday "stuff" I don't agree with the policy.

I don't see how an owners locker would be any different....maybe it won't stay in a room for a day or so...but disney cm's deliver it to your room.

I think all hotels accept shipments from guests....honestly I have read on these boards that convention guests get charged to deliver the box.

In all honesty.....I'm sure Disney would prefer me to ship a box of stuff.....Why because I don't rent a car, which keeps all my money on Disney property. That is big change compared to delivering my package....JMO.

No flames from me, just a slightly different view... they have a huge warehouse that handles all of their shipping and receiving - the same area that processes all of those packages of stuff that people have purchased while on their vacation and then want to ship home vs. lugging home with them on the plane. It's a very active place, with shipments coming and going all the time, being moved across "the world" - so it's not like stuff is really sitting around very long. It's a stretch, but one could almost view at as WDW's own little post office-type facility, and they are just the facilitators, or mail folks.
