My Two Gripes About BRP

Okay, anyone familiar with my posts knows that I NEVER complain about Disney. I try to find the best in the situation and go with it. However, I do have two HUGE complaints with BRP. The first, as has been mentioned here often, is the no refund on the deposit. I don't understand how AP holders, Disney's most loyal group, can't get their refunds, but others can. I know, there is nothing to be done about it, but it isn't right. Secondly, and the most annyoing, is that when you call the Passholder line to try and make changes to your ressies, NO ONE knows how to do it!!! I have tried for over a week to make changes to one of the rooms I have reserved. First, they can never find it and then when they do find it, I get put on hold while they try to figure out HOW to change it. Just a MAJOR pain in the rear and a LOT of long distance minutes! Okay, vent over....

ITA!! Have you tried calling (407) 939-7429? That # worked for me awhile back. This was back when the program was first up and running and the CM I spoke with was able to make the change with putting me on hold just one time! :goodvibes

The situation was that I had three reservations using my AP. We are traveling with 2 other families this trip. So, I was able to get 2 rooms at POR and 1 at POFQ. Obviously, with 6 kids and 3 adults, it would be best for all 3 families to be together at POR. As I was typing my OP this morning, I was on the phone YET again using the Passholder number. After a LOOONG wait, she was able to switch the one room over to POR!! YEAH!! Then, I asked her to link the ressies together. After a long sigh and an exasperated, "What are the other numbers," she was able to link them all together. I just think if Disney is going to make all these new rules then they should have the CMs trained to handle this.

Problems like these are why I dislike the BRP too. I know some people are finding they can make changes easily, but I worry something will be messed up since I want to reserve two rooms. If I were booking rooms with a national hotel chain like Hilton, etc., I would do it online without hesitation. However, Disney's website is so glitchy, I just don't trust using it exclusively. Anyway, I am considering using the AAA discount instead so I can book through CRO and not have the concerns that somehow my reservation will be wrong or that I will lose the deposit on two rooms if I can't go. Let's face it: The problem of not having the old AP rates is that we lose customer service (no phone reservations) and the flexibility (fees for changes or lost deposits).
