I thought that the tv in the family room (Sony Trinatron) bit the dust but the nicest Viet Namese repairman came out today. I may not have understood every word he said but he fixed the problem He did say the picture tube is going and didn't know how long it would last, it isn't the best color but I dont' care, its fine for now. I don't have to buy a tv while DH is gone, not that anyone needs one anyway, and he on'y charged me $60!!!! :sunny: :yay:

It's nice to see someone get an appliance repaired in this throw away society; most people look at this as an excuse to buy a new bigger TV, and usually finance it.

Our Sony Trinitron died a few months back and it cost us 120 to get it fixed. After doing some online research we noticed that a lot of people have had the same problem. Sounds like a faulty part, ours was only 7 years old. Maybe they just don't make them like they use to. When I was growing up we had the same TV forever!
