Well this is very late at night, and technically I should be tucked up in bed as I have a 5 hour train journey from uni back to home tomoro (i stupidly decided on the 'via london' route, so grappling that with my christmas laden suitcase should be interesting!) but i thought i would do my trippie now as I'm quite in the mood!

Sunday 2nd Dec
We set off earlyish to fly from Manchester to CDG. all went smoothly in this area so not much to tell. As the trip was a birthday surprise for my 21st, my boyfriend had held off from telling me which hotel we were staying in. I was utterly convinced it would be Dream Castle. Not sure why, just had a feeling. He didn't want to tell me where we were staying til we actually got to that hotel on the transfer coach, but i pointed out that we would have to tell the driver when we boarded. so on the plane he produced the booking forms with the hotel on, and my eyes would not believe it when i saw HOTEL NEW YORK!! i was actually speechless, as i knew he was on a budget. very very happy girlfriend indeed!
We arrived at HNY at 3.45 and had a swift check in and went straight upto our room to drop off all our stuff. I drew the net curtains away and to our amazement we had a room over looking the ice rink and christmas tree - wow! although we weren't going to spend much time in the hotel room, it was a REALLY lovely bonus, and as it was to the side of the hotel there was no extra 'lake view' chanrge (in fact it was complete luck that we got that room)

we then headed over to WDS despite the horrific stormy weather (im only little, thought i would be blown over sideways!) and went straight into the queue for Crush's Coaster as it was the one we were most eager to get on - WELL worth it. we were so impressed! and i'd completely forgotten that i'd read about the spinny bit. well done imagineers, a brilliant ride!!
by the time we got off this it was park closing time, so we headed back to the hotel, freshened up (and dried off from the rain) and went for my birthday meal at Rainforest cafe - yum!! it was pretty busy but the staff were brilliant with swift turn arounds and clean ups so we only had to wait a couple of minutes for a table, and similar for our food - brilliant when you've had a long day! an early night was then in order as we knew it would be an early start the next day - our day in the main park!!

Monday 3rd Dec
We were up early today in order to make use of the Extra Magic Hours (very good idea to do so, we got straight on to our favourite rides!) and as we walked outside we were greeted with perfect, cloudless blue skies, sunshine and a little frost - a gorgeous winters day. perfect for the christmassy atmosphere! i got shivers when we walked down main street to this view, not because of the cold, but because it was so magical and i was so excited!

the first ride we made our way to was Buzz Lightyear, as we just missed its official opening on our last trip, and my mum had been raving about how good it was. and we were not disappointed! well i was a little as my boyfriend did far better in the scores than me (i did however get him back later in the day, when i scored 210,000!!)
we spent the morning on all our favourite rides (POTC, Peter Pan, Space Mountain, BTM) with far less queueing times than we had anticipated (we managed to do Peter Pan and POTC during EMH so that really helped! especially as they're the biggies when it comes to queues.
We then saw Mickey's Winter Wonderland show at 12.30 which was so lovely and magical!! i'd really recommend it, particularly to people with little oones, but to ppl of all ages, we really enjoyed it.
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o35/tigerlily_angel86/PA250031.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>
the afternoon was spent much the same until the parade of course. we took up our place on the balcony of the main street railway station (we got this place on our last trip and found it brilliant for viewing the parades!) I LOVED the new parade, and it completely lived upto everything i had read and heard about it. we particularly enjoyed the puppets from pinocchio and also the Father Christmas addition at the end!
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o35/tigerlily_angel86/PA250047.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

A further couple of hours were spent milling around the park and wandering through the shops in main street, until the Candleabration. It was quite similar to the previous Christmas lighting ceremonies but I was prepared for that anyway and not disappointed in the slightest. We absolutely loved it. and it was lovely standing there, wrapped up warm in gloves and scarves and cuddling up to watch the twinkling lights - very magical. the children around us were completely enthralled which was so lovely to see!
We decided to stay on for Fantillusion and found a very handy little bench for too near the City Hall to perch on for 45 mins whilst we waited (freezing cold!!) for the parade. But just as it began the rain started. neither of us were bothered until the hail began - que the two of us running back to the hotel very swiftly!!!
We had dinner that evening in Annette's Diner (an old favourite of mine) which was just as good as always. I went for the EuroChick burger which was very yummy!!
We then did a little shopping in the Village. I bought some lovely christmas decorations for our tree (which were on special offer!!) and then we went back to the hotel and crashed out as we were exhausted. i loved sitting by the window (in the warm!!) watching all the ice skating outside!

Tuesday 3rd Dec
a sad day as it's leaving day which came round far too quickly, as it always does in DLRP!
we checked our luggage in the baggage holding office and headed straight to WDS in time for the welcome announcement over the speakers. again we headed straight to Crush's Coaster and shot straight through and loved the ride even more second time around! we then waited around for a bit as we knew Mickey would be coming out for a meet n greet. we got a really lovely photo of the two of us with him (which is a breakthrough from the last trip when my boyfriend wasn't keen on photos with the characters - thats love for you!)
Rock n Roller coaster appeared to be out of action so we went on the Tram Tour, always a good one to chill out but still have fun on! and then headed for some lunch and to pick up our photo. before we left (as our plane was departing at 4.00) we checked on RNR one last time and it had opened - so we shot through that twice!!
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o35/tigerlily_angel86/PA260098.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>
and then it was off to the airport. I spent most of the journey convincing my boyfriend it wasn't too late to turn back and stay longer!!
anyway, i'm off to bed now, hope you've enjoyed my trippie and a few pics.
soooo missing DLRP but hopefully the next trip wont be too far away :)
emily xx
