There are some good and bad here, but overall I did not want to come home! =(

Day 1:
The trip started horrible, we both woke up for work at 6:30 am friday, worked all day then got on a plane after work. We flew from Medford, Oregon to WDW. This trip flew us all night and we arrived at 6:30 am saturday morning at POP. Neither one of us slept on the flight so we were looking forward to a bed, but when we checked in they said our room was not ready and to check back. So we called every half hour until noon, no luck, we were so tired we fell asleep in the kids room where the tv was in the lobby. This was horrible. Finally we shook off the sluggishness and ate. The food at POP was ok at best, but I would like to say that when i ordered the meatball sandwich I asked if there were onions and the lady grabbed the chef and the ingredients book and looked through for me which was awesome! After this ordeal we thought no problem we will move on. So about noon we decided they were not going to give us a room yet. We decided to check out the transportation so for the next couple of hours we rode to as many parks and resorts as we could also riding the monorail, just to get an idea of where we were going. At about 3:30 we got our room. The room was not to bad, the bed was hard as a rock but it was ok. We napped a bit, then decided to check some stuff out. We went to Downtown Disney and ate at the Rainforest Cafe, the wife and I eat at all of these and collect shot glasses and t-shirts. The food here was not very good this time. Oh well we really dont go for the food only the atmosphere. Walked around the shops and then left to the magic kingdom We pretty much just walked around magic kingdom to check it out then went back to the room. There must have been 20 disney channels on the tv so we watched the top 7 things to do yada yada which was cool the first couple of times, but it plays everytime you turn the tv on.

Day 2:
We got up late and headed to animal kingdom. This place was pretty nice, yesterday and today were both very warm days and humid, so this was nice because of all the shade. We had no waits for rides for some reason, and went on Kilamanjari Safari, Dinosaur, and Kali river rapids (which is poor) the grizzly river run in california adventure is way better and longer too!. There was 0 line on dinosaur so we rode it a few times back to back. We wandered around a bunch and ended up at the Tusker house for lunch. We opted for the dining plan so this was a CS lunch. I had the Salmon and Wife had the chicken sandwich. Cheesecake and large drinks. I asked again about onions and they went through the menu and brought out the chef. Things were getting a ton better than when we started. The service was awesome! After lunch we went walking on the trails and such then decided to find dinner. We went back to the resort and made PS for Cape Mae Cafe we did not know how to get there so our concierge said we should take a boat so we went out to the loading area and the line was about 3 busfulls long and no bus in site! This was about 5:30 and our PS for for 6:50. We got there at 7:30 and after a couple calls from our concierge they let us in. This place was awesome. The meat was tender and moist. The clams were also very well cooked, (and I would have never guessed at a buffet). The service was great and the food even better. The resort was awesome as well. We even left a tip for our waitress on top of what the dining package gives. After dinner we decided to hit MGM. It was late hours at MGM. We were not impressed with this park at all. We even canceled our hollywood and vine PS. That we scheduled for the following day. We got there around 9 and it started pouring rain for like an hour or so. We tried to walk through the shops and it was hopeless so we decided to leave, well on the way out it stopped raining and I did not want to go home yet, so we went back, well the stupid machine would not take our tickets because it said we had used them to soon and the guy at the ticket gate took us aside and asked for id and such to make sure we didnt steal these some how, or atleast that is how we felt. Finally he said goto the customer service place and they will help. We started going there then took off into the park lol. We saw the muppet show, but most everything was shutdown. We wanted to see the water show with the lights but they canceled it because of the storm. We headed back to the room at this point. The next day MGM day.

Day 3:
We got up and decided today was MGM day (because we had PS at Hollywood and Vine). We saw the lights camera, action show which was awesome, but for the most part we did not like this park at all and decided at like 1 pm it was time to go so we canceled our PS and instead made one for Whispering Canyon. We had cs at the abc place and it was not very good at all, so we just felt it was time to move on. We went from there to the Magic Kingdom again. We decided to hang out there, eat, then go back because it was late hours. We showed up at whispering canyon and the lodge it is at (i forget) was just awesome. We decided that if we go back we would stay there. It was either the animal kingdom lodge or the wilderness lodge, anyways, we had a blast here! I dont want to spoil it for anyone, but if you really want some fun ask for ketchup!! The waitress we had was awesome and we tipped her more than the TS tipped. I had the all you care to eat platter that was awesome! It had chicken, ribs sausage corn on the cob and beans. Also all you care to drink shakes! OMG, they almost had to roll me out in a wheel barrow! It is loud so dont expect anything romantic! After dinner we went back to MK and it was plain nuts! There were so many people there that we waited almost an hour for a ride on the peter pan ride. we fast passed bmtr and Splash Mountain, but it was like 7:00 and the pass was for like 11-12 ack! So we didnt go on it at all. We rode the jungle cruise, haunted mansion, (which was poor compared to the one at disneyland, of course the walk to it is better). This ride broke down and left us in the room with the crystal ball for 15 minutes or so! Ack!. We rode a few other rides, we really like the TTA ride if you can call it that. We got to see space mountain with the lights on which was really cool. At this point we were kind of worn out and decided to go back to the room. Tomorrow was epcot day!

Day 4:
Epcot! We got here at opening and by this time the weather had gone from hot and humid to mild with a breeze, it was very nice. We got to the park and saw the sign where you can have your picture put on one of those marble stones out front so we did that. We went in and decided to cruise the world. We went in every shop in every country (this took along time). We ate at the yakitori house CS in japan. This was not very good either. I had some combo meal and my wife had the terriyaki chicken. We both did not like this meal, but oh well we wanted to try something different. We went to germany and had some of the beer (which was not even close to real german beer but o well). Then we continued on through. We had desert at a small bakery in italy and I had the creme brule and she had the cramel soufle. Excellent food! We went to the underwater exhibit and rode the space ride, but this place was very busy as well and we dont like to wait for things so we just wandered. We had a PS at Boma so we headed out. This place was awesome as well, the chef actually told me he would make me any dish on the buffet without onions if I would like that. I cannot even eat in my own town anymore, because of the spoiling i got from disney! The meat was so tender and so was the salmon, the food is a bit different than any I have eaten as far as flavors and such but great nonetheless! The waitress was from africa and told us how disney advertises for people to come work there and will pay for schooling and such! I thought this was awesome for disney to do! Good Job disney for making it as authentic as possible! After dinner we headed back to Epcot. We watched the fireworks and then left. This park was one of our favorites. Tomorrow we rent a car and tour florida.

More to come......

Day 5:
We got up at 8 to rent a car. We had no idea where we were going, but thoughts of universal and the beach krept into our minds. We decided on cocoa beach and kenedy space center. Kenedy was awesome we got to see a shuttle being prepared for launch and we saw the launch pad the discovery was launched off of and has not been used since. (since it blew up =(. ) We ate at the kennedy diner and I had the bbq pork and the wife had the hamburger. Bleck! Terrible food. We had not known how long this trip would take and we had dinner reservations so we went on to cocoa beach, as we entered the town we thought (this place looks trashy) we saw a sign that said world reknowned cocoa beach and got excited, as we were driving down the road, we noticed that you could not really see the beach from the road, it was like all these side streets had beach parking and access, kind of weird. So we parked and went on the beach, another disappointment, there were some kind of off beach oil rigs or something out in the water and the sand had kind of a hard crusty feel to it. Nothing like out here in oregon! Our beaches are soft and there is no oil rigs or whatever out in the water to make it look machinized. So it was at this time we decided to head back to dinner, but it was to late for our PS at alfredos, so we went to an all you care to eat lobster buffet on international. This was great! It is hard to keep seafood on a buffet from getting rubbery, and these guys did a great job. It was like 22 bucks and I must have had 5 lobster tails, and my wife had about as many crab legs. All in all this was nice. We rapped up another day and tomorrow we are off to typhoon lagoon.

Day 6:
I got up early to take the car back! 7:30 I asked for directions to the alamo place. It turns out there are atleast 2 of the rental places at WDW. I drove to the first one which was at one of the resorts, turned out to be the wrong one. After about 1 1/2 hour I finally made my destination. It was the car care center at the hess station. There must have been a hundred peiple there when I showed up. About another hour and I got to give them the keys. I then proceeded to wait atleast another hour to get a ride back to the room at this time it was past noon and we had hoopty doo revue at 5. We went to typhoon lagoon for about 4 hours max. My wife was afraid of the wave pool, but I swam all the way out. This was just plain exhilirating! The wave got so high! I had a blast. Then we went on the lazy river for about an hour. Rode the tube rides and the body slides, then went for lunch at the cs place there. This was just ok, The lady working the register did not talk well and we could not understand her and our order got messed up but no biggie. We left there in time to run to the room and throw on some dry clothes and get ready for hoopty doo! We were very excited! We took the bus the the Wilderness campground, with like 15 minutes to spare, then found out we had to take another bus into the campground to get there. We rode the purple bus which is the long one and were there just on time. We were still very excited, but that would crash shortly. First off we dont like people pushing stuff on us and they made us take their stupid pictures, but we were having fun so no worries. It was just a bit annoying. Now this goes back to day one and 2 months ago when I made the PS, I have allergies to onions that can kill me. Believe me when I found out it was a taco bell bean burrito that nearly ended my life. Anyways, when I made the reservations I said please no onions, and they said no problem. Before my waiter brought out the food I said please no onions, he said no problem. I must say my life could have ended this night folks and this is why. We were at the top at a table that we had to look through a post to see the stage, if you all have been there, there are 2 such spots. One on either side of this room. So we took turns moving our head around the post. The big guy came up and asked where we were from we said oregon and they made a cool little rhyme about long johns and such which was funny! We were having a great time until our dumb waiter decided to bring out the ribs and slam them on the table which caused the sauce to fling allover my nice pants and shirt ( I thought it being a dinner show i would dress nice) A new pari of pants (dockers) and shirt ruined. Anyways we were having fun and they were doing the birthday and anniversary thing and I loaded up my plate, now anyone who has been up in those balcony seats know its kind of dark there. So I put some corn and beans on my plate and as Im watching the show start to eat, needless to say I didnt eat enought to kill me but I was sick the rest of the trip and even today. I ate one fork full, swallowed before I knew what it was then told the waiter hey I said no onions and he said well there is nothing I can do because it is cooked with onions, at this point I took a bite of the ribs which were cold and under cooked, got up and walked out. I was so irate but decided to bite my tongue, (Im the kind of person who feels yelling will never solve anything). We decided to goto magic kingdom and let off some steam. We went into the guest relations place to schedule some more PS for the rest of the week. We made one for cape mae again because we had such great service there. At the same time the guy we spoke to whom was German, I want to say his name was jason maybe. He was awesome. We told him about the hooppty do thing and he gave us 3 more days worth of myw plus tickets, then gave us a front of the line pass to the magic kingdom for the rest of the night and free popcorn for the fireworks show. It started pouring again , (it pretty much rained everynight we were there) we didnt care I took my hat off and stood in it. Where im from the rain is cold, but here it was warm and refreshing! We finished up the evening here and then decided to check out pleasure island since we were going there tomorrow anyways we thought we would scope it out. Now somewhere in this forum there was a thread about things that shocked people, we ran into a couple things that ill tell you about now. We were in epcot coming out of the building with the restrooms next to the space ride and out front they are building what looks to be some kind of ice restaurant. Anyways there is a planter out there about 5 foot tall and this boy about 10 was peeing into it from on top of it so the whole world could see! The next shocking thing was at the buffet how rude people were. There were a bunch of people in line for food and this couple with their 12 year old or close son just cut in front of my wife and I and when my wife said something they said well we just didnt want to wait and kept going! The last thing was we were at pleasure island and there was a young couple on the walkway that goes behind planet hollywood and she was wearing a real short skirt and he pretty much had it up around her shoulders and doing explicit things. Now dont get me wrong I was once young and not that long ago im only 30, but doesnt that seem a bit crude? Anyways we saw more of that type of behavior in the dance clubs. We went into the adventure club and that was kind of corny but fun. The drinks were very expensive! We did get one that came in a bucket which was interesting. So we left there heading back the next night.

Day 7:
We were so tired today we slept in, got up and went to downtown disney we decided to have some lunch and eat a ghiradelli sunday while we were here. We did our shopping and then decided that we had pretty much seen everything and wed head back to the room and hang out at the pool. Not a very eventfull day at all. We are leaving tomorrow and are sad now. I decided that since my wife had never seen a firefly I would go hunt for some around hourglass lake, but never saw any =(. Went swimming then to bed. Btw after typhoon lagoon we both came down with a cold so we were sick as well. Off to get ready to leave tomorrow. We also ate at Cape mae again. wonderful again!

Day 8:
Wake up late and we have like 6 hours till we have to leave our trip is over and we can go home, we decide to go to animal kingdom for the last day. We had not seen that dinosaur walking around so we decided to look. We finally got to see him, but there were a million people around. We went on dinosaur again and left. We were beat. Stuffed up and sick. We got back to the resort and earlier asked for them to store our stuff. Now going back to when we landed here, I brought my laptop and my wife brought a bag with a days clothes in it because of the whole Magical Express thing and just knowing airlines and luggage. So we asked then if there was someplace secure we could store our carry on bags, they said not really and I was not about to let them throw around my laptop so I carried it and she carried our clothes which made it that much more difficult. Now back to our last day. I spoke to the concierge whome just happened to live in Gold hill oregon which is about 5 miles from where i live, and he said they had secure storage for things like laptops and such. I was so mad! So I stored it in their secure cage that morning. So we go to get our luggage and stuff to meet the bus for our departure to find out that they had lost my laptop and the other carry ons. Ack! My laptop is my job without it im doomed. Dont get me wrong I have backups and such but to be truthful the last week before I left I had not sync ed it up with my server and I had a big, big project in the works! So im freaking, what happened was they gave my items to another family who had the same last name! So now its a race against time! They got my stuff to me just before the bus left and all was well. Next the airport OMG!

Airport:
I dont know if I mentioned I hate flying. I use the word hate flying hate hate hate! It scares me to death.

So we got about a 5 hour flight back to las vegas to connect. We board and sit 10-15 - 20 minutes go by half hour no movement. Finally the pilot says there is a mechanic coming to add hydrolic fluid because they are low. This is the big place with 3 seats across and the lady next to us says she missed 2 flights already because of mechanical problems and is really mad that it may happen again. I am scared to death. My wife tells me to calm down. I say there are 2 ways to look at this and neither are good. 1. They are supposed to check the planes before they leave and if they did that they should have check this wherever this plane came from now if it was full their and now its not we have a leak and it needs to be fixed. 2. They didnt check it at the last place in which case makes me wonder what else they havent checked! About an hour or so later we take off, when we are at cruising altitude a little boy goes into the bathroom and the thing that says occupied or vacant breaks and locks the boy in the bathroom! OMG this thing is going down in flames im thinking, I start to panic and look around notiicing all the dirt marks and ash trays ( how many years has it been since smoking is banned on airplanes?) Then I start to wonder how old the plane is. They finally get the boy out I even tried to help because the flight attendants were blond and I dont think quite understood what to do. I mentioned, by looking at the other lock, the it has to go down before the lock will slide free, they figure it out after telling us all to sit down. We land about an hour late but still in time for the connecting flight. Next Nightmare part 2.

Plane Part 2:
We land in Vegas its beautiful! We gamble a bit at the poker machines by our flight. The plane we end up taking back home is a jet but only seats like 60 people so its very small. We cant even use the loading and unloading tunnels they provide we have to walk outside on the tarmac and then up the littles door stairs they have. We sit and wait 10-20-30 minutes, the captain calls out our motors are not starting or something similar. It is hot as all heck in here because they need motors for AC. I freak again. ***! The motors arent starting and they havent canceled this flight yet. Well later i learned that sometimes the motors need some kind of jump start and most of the time when we board a plane the motors are already running. At this point I do not trust these motors and feel like the motors will quit and the plane will plummet to the earth with me in it. Finally we taxi out to the runway, but wait a minute, we cant go yet because there are 123124309874 jumbo jets that want to go first so we wait and wait..... finally we take off but as soon as we lift off we start dropping. You know the weightlessness when you first take off, well it did that then was climbing then drop and hard bank im screaming. My wife is saying calm down the plane is dropping though, but we got it all figured out, I think the pilot was a newbie or something because he was banking hard and dropping the nose and all kinds of things on that flight. We finally landed 2 hours late and I am home.

I was like the little girl on that movie with Vin Diesel when she flies out of the van and screams "LAND".

I know I forgot somethings and will add more later when i think of them, im still jet lagged and mind numb! All in all we had a great time though!

Wow what a great trip report!!! Do you remember the name of the lobster buffet and how far off the property it was? Thanks again for a great report!

I am not real sure how far it was, we came up I4 I believe and International was an exit off their. We saw the add for it in one of those what to do in orlando books that you get for free at restaurants and such. I cant remember the name. I dont think it was very far though maybe a mile or 2.

Great trip report. Everytime I fly, anymore, there is some kind of engine trouble to make me late for my connection. Sounds like in spite of some bad incidents, you had a great time. :flower:

omg!!! that is sooo freaky about the airplanes!! I hate it too!! We are going to Vegas in a few days on a Sunday morning and because of this, I will be hitting 6AM mass to say a prayer...and then drink a tall one...on a Sunday at 8 am...to fly to Vegas... :earseek: I am with ya on that one dude!!! It is cool your wife is not like me a freaker or she would not have calmed your butt down!!! So, I can't really tell, sounds like your trip was not up to expectations but hey that guy that gave you free tix, that is sweet huh?? Good thing you and DW do not have any little ones, that traveling situation could've been A LOT WORSE if you had three or four kids in tow, like us :earseek: Sounds like you had fun on a few things...that is great. I am with you on the Deluxes, I SAY splurge if you can afford it, especially with two adults..I would've done POFQ or POR at tthe least...that is just me though and I have never been to WDW onsite so no flames please just stating my preferences...I am shocked they gave you onoins at HDDR...that is very dangerous, had you been a small child and ate a lot of it that could've been fatal. I would have gotten a name on the person who told you that as I hear Disney is great about stuff like that. Did they have lobster at Cape May?? Sounds like you REALLY like that place. As far as the inappropriateness of the younger generation (I am 28, not far from you) that is why I at my young tender age stay away from CLUB SCENES, I hate them. Guess that is why I married a 40 yo too :rotfl: Anyway I am glad you had some good times sorry about the bad, I think you did great not to get too angry, I am going to have to remember not to freak out on our trip when things do not go as planned (I am type A perfectionist). Tell your wife hello for me and expect even more fun when or if you have little ones at your feet!! Now that is an experience in itself :earsboy:
