Well, I'm back from 2 weeks in FL and I want to go back. I just love it there. I am not much of a trip reporter but I thought I would write about a few key things and experiences that I thought you all might be interested in.
We stayed from Feb 28th to March 14th 2007, the crowds were so light, up until the Monday of March break, then it got very busy. Before that we pretty much walked on rides, the most about 10 minute wait. It was awesome. The weather was perfect, hot but with a beautiful breeze. It only rained once and it was overnight. The perfect week for crowds and weather.
YOMD - my dd got picked for pins. She was given 2 YOMD pins and was told to keep one then share the dream and pass the other on.
My kids ended up receiving countless certificates. A few were....
curtain callers at the Flights of Wonder show, 2 different CM chose them to participate in Disney trivia games, they completed the trivia at Walt Disney walk through, finding the key under the mat at MGM, waking up Tinkerbell.
My dh (cdn prince charming) was chosen as the Beast in the Belle Fairytale Garden show. My DD loved it, as did my dh. Great pics.
The PPP was amazing, we went on Mar 5th, it was a very quiet night. Walk on rides, no line ups for the treasure. The CM filled my kids bags to the top with chocolate and necklaces. Really, the only waits were for the characters (I waited 40 min) for Jack Sparrow. We were the last one of the night so the CM gave my ds a coin from JS treasure, it was pretty cool. We got alot of great pics. We also saw the step sisters and mother who were hilarious. My dd loved the Dance parties. It was a great night, a little cool though. I hear it is coming again, if you can, GO!! The fireworks were incredible, the BEST I have ever seen.
The BBB was also excellent my dd was thrilled by the whole experience.
Alice's Tea party apparently was a huge hit. My dd went and said she had a fabulous time. They decorated cupcakes, made flower bouquets, had "tea" and sandwiches, my dd got to sit beside Alice which was great. My dm and I went to the GF High Tea which was so wonderful, the tea, sandwiches, scones and pastries were out of this world. We loved it.
We got a sneak peak of the Monsters Inc Comedy show at MK. We thought it was very funny. My dd was put on camera and asked a couple of questions, she loved it!
We also were one of the first to get a sneak peak at the AKV. Our guide showed us the rooms and they were lovely. He noted some of the changes that were going to be made. We have stayed at AK, it is very similar to those rooms, the darker atmosphere, browns, tans and dark woods, the carvings. The details are beautiful.
Both my kids got chosen my Miuki(sp) at Epcot. She makes animals out of candy, my dd got a flamigo, my ds, a dragon. She is amazing to watch.
My kids also made cookies at Epcot (near Soarin). They loved it. As we visit as often as we can afford, we tried to do things this trip that we have never done vs. trying to get to the next ride or show. The kids loved the slower pace and doing different things.
We went to Beaches and Cream at the Boardwalk and had the Kitchen Sink. It was huge. We did the best we could but there was alot of ice cream. I have never seen anything like it. It was fun though.
We stayed in a Villa at Oak Island Cove which is minutes from WDW. The shortcut on Sheberth Road was great. Having the villa was great as we had our own pool, spa, and laundry. The kids had there own room which is nice for early nights.
My ds and dh swam with dolphins at Discovery cove. My dh says it is an experience that will never be forgotten. Yes, it is very expensive but judging from my ds face in the pic when he is kissing the dolphin, it was so worth it.
We also went to Universal and Sea World, I did feel like a traitor LOL, Disney is the BEST at what they do that is for sure.
CROCS are dangerous!!!!!!!!!!!! My ds had his eaten by the esculator in Epcot leaving Soarin. Thank God it wasn't his toes. My dd had major blisters after wearing hers for one day. I think I will save the crocs for beach/swimming wear.
I know there is countless other things that we did but I think that is all for no, if I think of anything else I'll add it.
