My Travel Fly Drive ?'s

Hi can anybody please help me? We have never booked a Fly Drive before, we always book our flights and car hire separately. However I have just been looking at the prices on My Travel for next Aug. and they look pretty good. I noticed that the price doesn't include handling fee per car per day, airport operating fee per car per day, Florida surcharge per car per day, and Florida sales tax. Can anybody please let me know roughly how much this will all cost, as I have no idea.

Hi Catherine,

Do you mind me asking what dates you are looking to go next August? I've just checked out the website for My Travel for 14th Aug 05 and the cost for 2 adults and 2 children is coming in at over £3k for flydrive only.

I think I may be missing something it would be great if you could give me some advice!!

Hi. I just booked with Direct Travel, which is the same company I believe. For a C4 car they want about £360 extra for insurance, but if you look at the Dollar.co.uk website (same car-hire company) they do exactly the same for £298 all-in, car and insurance, so you're paying £60-odd for nothing. Holiday Autos are doing it for about £282. I booked flydrive, but there's no mention of car insurance, and when I phoned up to query it they said that I didn't have to take the car if I hadn't agreed to pay extra insurance on the form. By the way, the flight only cost was exactly the same as the so-called flydrive.

Karen, I just had another look on My Travel's website and I can't believe it, when I checked the price earlier today it was £1,728, now it's £2,536, go figure!! Guess I won't be booking that!!
