My Travel Agent who i booked everything through has gone bust

I'm shocked they went so quick, 3rd largest in the uk to go over night, we heard it on the way from florida to mexico and having worked in the travel industry was shocked
 
October Bride - were you in the Daily Mail today? Because my dad called and said there was a Disney bride affected. I'm so pleased you got things sorted.

A Whole New World - have you had any luck yet? I'm keeping my fingers crossed and sending lots of pixie dust.

My mum asked about booking with TCD and I advised her to stick with Virgin - I really feel for everyone caught up in this situation :hug:
 
We haven't had much luck yet. Were waiting on our Disney planner getting back to us. She had a lot of brides to deal with. Disney where going to have a meeting last night to discuss what to do. I have flights booked with Virgin so there secure and my cruise is secure at the moment. It looks like my hotel, Disney / Universal tickets and experience day might have to be re-booked. I'm just hoping that TCD have paid for the wedding and that it secure and they can't claim the money back. That is my biggest worry at the moment. I've spent the last few days being emotional. I just hope it all works out. Back in March we where discussing whether to go through Disney direct or not. I wish i had. I just hope it all works out and that i can have my dream wedding as we planned it with all the hotel bookings etc and that my DF's parents can come.

I feel quite ill with worry at the moment. :sad2:

I can't offer any words of wisdom or a solution but I just wanted to say I am so sorry. I really really hope you can get something sorted.

Shian, I saw your story in the papers and wondered if it was you! I'm glad you are ok.
 
OMG! My in-laws to be were saying last night over dinner that someone's wedding had been affected and we were saying how awful that must be for them but i had no idea it was people whose weddings i have been following on the disboards.

I feel so tearful now, im so sorry for you guys, although octoberbride im so glad you managed to get it all sorted... 2 weeks before the wedding is just horrendous.

A whole new world i truly hope you get the same kind of luck and i wish the both of you truly magical disney weddings :goodvibes
 
I thought i'd give you guys an update.....

I am now re-booked for everything. I had to pay for my wedding, tickets, hotel and exerience days again. Disney cancelled my reservations as soon as they knew the travel agent went bust and gave my GF reservation to someone else. They didn't tell us that they had cancelled them so when we tried to re-book we found there was no rooms left a GF for they days we originally had booked. Unfortunately Disney didn't sprinkle any fairy dust our direction. Luckily we had a great family behind us, and poor DF had to put up with my emotions. Lol

We are now booked in at the CB for the whole time and have to re-do our wedding contract etc. I have cancelled my GF salon booking and am trying to book Beauty Speciale. Am a little nervous about using them as i haven't seen any pictures on their webpages of the sort of thing i want doing. I have some pictures but i hope their be able to follow them exactly. I am also using my limo for the wedding day and not the airport trip as originally planned.

Luckily we are now all back on track to have the wedding on the same date and time. This stress has done wonders for my wedding diet. Thank you ladies for all your support. :grouphug:

If you're worried about Beaute Speciale's ability to re-create the hairstyle you wnat, you could look into one of the many other cosmetologists who will come to your hotel:

I can't believe Disney would just cancel you like that?? Talk about looking out for your bottom line. :headache: Are you loosing out on the money you paid to the tour operator??? OMG i'm so sorry this happened!
 
Were get all our money back that we paid originally, but because the prices have gone up we will have to pay the extra and we can't claim that back. Plus the exchange rate has gone down dramatically so weve ended up paying more because of that. It seems everyone wants to cash in on others misfortune.

As fair as Disney where concerned our travel agent was their customer.:sad2:

I can't believe what you had to go through - I'm so sorry for it all. :sad1: I hope the wedding is now doubly as wonderful and beautiful for you as it would have been before. You deserve much happiness after this mess!

Just so you know we got what we paid plus 10% back, so i would check that out.....it will help with the cost increase.
