So I love thrift shopping and hitting clearance racks, the whole thing is like a big game for me. It's also a great way to stock up for park visits. The goal for me is what cool items can I find and how little can I pay for it? (saves me cash, plus it's a great day filler when I'm bored) I found some great Disney things this way. At one thrift store, I found a plush Figment in a space suit for two bucks! He looked brand new! I also found a souvenir cup from DL that I really like for 99 cents. I have found books and such as well. ( I just found a Black Cauldron storybook in good condition - $2) I go to the Disney Store Outlet (and other stores) and raid their clearance items for my next clothes for parks trip. I just stow them away in my closet, waiting. (last time, I found a new earhat, they were 1/2 off!)

This little game is one of the things I do to keep me placated during my loooong years between park visits. Does anyone else enjoy thrifting like this? If so, what are some of your finds?

(Oh! I do the same thing in the parks. Last trip, in one of the gift shops in EPCOT, I found an outstanding big yellow bag with a silver Mickey icon for $12, it had been $36)

We find spectacular deals at the disney outlet, I love that store. We are going to orlando in feb, and I hope to find Christmas and birthday presents. I also need 2015 photo albums for our trip last Oct. I bet they will be super cheap :)

I saw some photo albums in our nearest outlet in December, I don't think they were clearanced yet. I hope you find everything you're looking for! Happy hunting! :)

There's a Disney outlet at the woodbury commons in NY that isn't too far from us, so I try to go occasionally. They get park exclusive merchandise, but usually Disneyland, nor World. I just bought a pin trading bag for under $7 (originally $30) and a pack of 7 trading pins for less than a dollar a piece!

Our outlet near Houston also usually gets the DL merch. That trading pin bag and pack find is a great deal! Fantabulous!

The Disney Store outlets don't get WDW merchandise often cause they have the Character Warehouse stores in the two premium outlets in Orlando to send there merchandise. Disneyland doesn't have outlet stores like that to send their merchandise so it gets sent to the Disney Store Outlets around the country. This was all explained to me by one of the CMs at our local Disney Store Outlet.

That's good to know, thanks for this information! :)

Yes, I love thrifting; it's probably one of my favorite hobbies. I get a lot of my kids' clothes at Goodwill. It's hit or miss, but I get enough hits to keep me coming back!

Some of my favorite finds are theme park merchandise. I got a Mickey icon picture frame (what did I do with that???) and a t-shirt for my DD. Both items were under $5 total. They probably retail for over $50 at WDW. I mostly look for brand name children's clothes and Disney World stuff.

I have found the plastic soda mugs with lids that they sell at the resorts for 99 cents at Goodwill.
I also found a Disney Parks purse for $12. I didn't buy it because the pattern was too complex for my taste. I like more subtle designs and it was covered in Mickeys, Minnies, etc...

haha, my ds and I have had this 'game' for years.... while I shop the thrift stores, his job is to search for 'valuable' Disney stuff! Why? I don't know but it's fun,and I frequently find other peoples' castoff souvenirs..... I wish I had found those happy meal toys, those bring back memories!

I do enjoy finding the Disney parks merchandise! I went thrifting today, I found a few things, but alas, no Disney. :(

I found a great tote bag years ago at the Goodwill in a cute Mickey/Madras patchwork that I use all the time for $3. I bought 2 Disney Store tee shirts at St. Vincent dePaul last week for $3 each - one Stitch and one Mickey/Minnie.

I really don't thrift shop so to speak, but I am a bargain hunter. I am always on the look out for things to add to my Disney Box.

Disney Outlet stores there are 2 here in Orlando, during Christmas, I found pens, pencils, notepads, mouse pads and some other little things for our stocking each item was from, .99 cents to 4.00. I also scored a Nike golf shirt those breathable ones with small Mickey on the chest for my husband for 20.00, it was 85.00 so score. I always go in a check around, I scored some Christmas ornaments one year in the middle of summer for cheap, 5 dollar Mickey beach towels

Disney Store - the ones located in the mall, they normally have a good clearance section, and better prices on T-shirts.

Disney store on line, I have gotten those acrylic glasses, coffee mugs, T-Shirts in the clearance section.

Kohls - I hit a big score last January I got Hallmark Disney Christmas ornaments for 80% off plus I had a 20% off coupon.

Hallmark stores - I go to this Hallmark store that is kinda out of the way, and got 3 Disney ornaments a couple weeks ago for less than the cost of one ornament.

Walmart & Target around here (Orlando) They have whole sections of nothing but Disney and Universal of T-shirts, bags, trinkets, jewelry, cups, key chains whatever you can think its there, plus there is always a clearance rack in each department.

Dollar stores are another great stop to find some things.
As a matter of fact my box is getting kinda low, I guess I will be out looking to fill it up.

I found a cute Mickey sweatshirt at Goodwill yesterday..... but it was way too big so I didn't get it.... I love merchandise with the 'parks' tags in them.... I have a question about the outlets in NY state- do these have good merchandise? I am so curious

It varies with the park merchandise. They also have all the same stuff as regular disney stores for a similar price. I really just look for parks stuff. We went the weekend after christmas (big mistake parking wise- it was crazy), and it was 50% off, plus another 25% off.

I've found a few things at Goodwill- Port Orleans refillable mug, La Nouba popcorn bucket, Generic resort refillable mug, Figment piggy bank, and a Disneystore holiday Olaf plush.

Disneystore.com usually has some good deals on Cyber Monday. I got the kids a few a few plushies for $3.33 and I know there were around $9.00 at the parks.

Target just had their big toy clearance with toys marked down 70% off. Got my daughter a few plushies from Inside Out for $2.50.

I went to a local thrift store once when I was visiting Vero Beach. I found a beautiful Aulini spa robe that was $3.00!!! I was so excited, but after I got it home, I realized that it was just too hot for me. I asked my friend who was shopping with me if she wanted it, and she said if I was too hot wearing it, she would be too. I decided I would sell it on ebay. Long story short....the bids just kept coming. The robe sold for over $100. Best three bucks I ever spent!!!
