LOVED IT! Check in was a breeze, everyone was friendly, service was fast. Bell services were great. Room was nice and clean. Never had to wait for an elevator. Restaurant service at Cape May Cafe both breakfast and dinner was excellent. Ditto for Beaches and Cream. Hotel sent baloons and a signed disney card for DS birthday. Gift shop had soda and snacks and were eager to please. Room service was fast and pizza was good. Mousekeeping was outstanding, never saw them, always plenty of towels and stuff. Pool was really cool and very warm. Lifeguards were everywhere. All the food we ate the whole trip was excellent. Bus service was great, longest we waited was 10 minutes. Location cant be beat: walked to Epcot, MGM, and boardwalk. Plenty to do in the evening. Heard an occasional kid running down the hall at 11pm(mine was asleep) but other than that pretty quiet.

WOW, sounds really great. Did you take any pictures? What was your room #, view like?

Do you know how long Storm Along Bay was open in the evenings? Did you find the restaurants (especially Beaches n Cream) crowded? What about the busses?

SAB was open till about 8pm. B&C always looked crowded cause its so small but the wait was only 15mins. We were in 4622 on the fourth floor just down a coupl doors from the elevator. We had a full balcony with a view of a courtyard. Our room was NS which was our only request. Took more video than pics, sorry. Cape may cafe seemed full most nights during prime hours but we called on sunday at 5:20pm and got seating at 5:40. We had just gotten back from an entire day at blizzard beach. Never seen DW get ready so fast. We had a great relaxing dinner and food and service was awesome.

Just back from BC last Sunday. I have to agree with almost all the things you mentioned, (Art greeting you in the lobby and our bellman Arneil were great) but we were not happy with the transportation, especially the boat to MGM. Both times we went to MGM it seemed like we waited forever for the boat to arrive to take us back to the BC. Disney should also provide bus service back to BC from MGM so that their guests can make a choice.

It was great that the staff remembered your DS birthday. My DW was celebrating her 40th and I made sure that I let them know both when our reservations were made and when we checked in. We were told by the person who checked us in that they would do something for her either on her B'day or the day before. Well nothing was done. Luckily we brought our own balloons and a big sign that said Happy 40th. I am surprised that mousekeeping didn't remind the desk when they saw the decorations in the room. I guess a little bit of the Disney magic is disappearing.

A great thing about the BC is being able to take a walk over to the Boardwalk in the evening to see the street performers. We even timed our return walk to coincide with the fireworks from Illuminations. We watched it from the bridge between the two resorts..

Noting birthdays/anniversaries and then getting something in return is hit or miss. I don't necessarily think it has to do with less "magic" but I think they can't possiblely accomodate every special event. With WDW being the number one domestic honeymoon destination, I can only imagine how many special events are noted on people's reservations. This is certainly no excuse for the front desk not following up, especially after they specifically said something would be done. But, my mantra nowadays is "expect nothing" so as to avoid disappointment.

I've celebrated a wedding, birthday and anniversary there and we never received anything in our room. Just a greeting when we checked-in. For the lucky ones who get the nice room gifts, I am happy for them. :) Maybe oneday I'll be pleasantly surprised. Until then, I'll presume I'll get nothing but Disney-quality rooms and service. JMHO. :)

We returned last week from our 5-year wedding anniversary trip to WDW. The Polynesian sent a CM over to our room with a single red rose in a vase as well as a "100 Years of Magic" certificate commemorating the occasion. It was more than I expected, so I was pleasantly surprised. If we had been in concierge, I'm sure there would have been a lot more!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time!!!:)

I mentioned it one time while making ressies that we were coming for DS bday. Last year at the Poly they didnt do anything special. Oh yeah and about that boat dock: we went out there one time as boat pulls up the captain starts barkin out orders to the people waiting so we turned around and walked to MGM.It was a nice walk. He was the only rudness we encountered the whole trip. Hey you guys you want to know what we did that was the most relaxing the whole trip? You will never believe the relaxing spot that we found. Want to know? Hunh hunh?
