I'm 37 days away from my third solo trip, and I'm so excited! This trip, my 12th to WDW, is only for 1 day!! One day in Disney? YOU BET! I'll take whatever I can get!
The reason is this - I have an airline credit that expires soon, and I've already booked a trip to Switzerland in January to ski with my girlfriend, SO... we need to save up some money for the big trip. I don't want my airline credit to expire, and it doesn't make sense to go on a big trip before January, so the logical thing is for me to take a quick solo trip to the Magic Kingdom, stay in a value hotel (POP Century - I think it's very cool) and enjoy the trip without spending lots of cash. Genius, huh?
I was actually going to fly in, take a cab to the park, then take a cab back to the airport. But it's less expensive to get a room and use Disney's Magical Express! COOL!
I can't wait - I love the Magic Kingdom! I've chosen a day that has extra magic hours, so I'll get to maximize my fun.
For those of you who haven't taken a solo trip, or are nervous about doing it, take this advice: DO IT. You'll be in the place you love, and YOU get to choose what you ride, what you eat, when you take a break, what shows/parades you watch... it's a wonderful experience! I've decided that I'm going to WDW as much as possible for the rest of my life, and if that means that I take a quick solo trip, then I'm doing it.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this with everyone. I was in WDW in May and June, and here I am, just as excited as ever. This will be my 7th trip since 2009 - I'm thinking that maybe I should really look into an annual pass...
Safe travels to all of you solo travellers!
Someone tell me about these "Dole Whips"... I've never had one....
Mike.
