Can you help me with my style, hair and losing weight this summer? I will be hitting the gym three or four times a week for at least an hour.

Okay, so you've already made the first step -- the gym. Exercise is a very crucial point of weight loss. You should probably shouldn't try to limit your calories less than 2000. You're underage and you'll be exercising, so you need the extra calories.

Try cutting out all the processed foods you can, and by than I mean cookies, chips, anything premade, etc. Are you parents helping you out on this? Are they planning on cooking/buying healthier foods for you?

If you want a snack, pick some veggies, fruit, or low fat yogurt. Try to eat lean meats (chicken breast, turkey breast/ground white turkey, lean beef, etc).

As for exercise you should probably focus on cardio right now. That's like running, walking, treadmill, elliptical, etc.

As for the style goes, I understand. You just want to look like a normal 15 year old, right? There are plus size stores like DEB for juniors (not old granny type clothes). You should check and see if you have one at your mall.

As for your hair, uhm, you're kind of young to be getting highlights. Why don't you try embracing your hair as it is? I struggled for years with my super curly hair thinking it was the worst thing in the world. I didn't until recently actually even try to make it look good because I was so focused on straight hair! Buy some new products to try or ask your friends what they think.

One more thing, don't wait until you lose weight to live your life. Don't put off wearing a bikini, or buying fun clothes, or talking to boys. Do it now! Losing weight will not cure all of your problems, so don't expect it to.

If you ever need to talk, just PM me or come over to the Disney Weight Loss 2 thread. There's a couple people over there trying to lose weight too, just like us. :) Also, I found this site very helpful. http://caloriecount.about.com/young-calorie-counters-forum-fc15

I've been getting my hair highlighted since I was almost 14. I don't compulsively highlight, though - it's expensive! Rather, I get a full done annually, right before summer, so it stays until like November. In my opinion, as long as you can pull off the highlights you want that also look natural, it's okay. If highlights are something you really want, talk to your hairstylist - I'm sure they can help you pick out something natural.

Idk. I've always viewed my highlights as a confidence booster. My hair is naturally dull. Literally.

True. As long as you have the extra money and your parent's approval. :)

Hey girl!
Like Jenny said, come on over to the Disney Weight Loss 2 thread! I'm over there with her working to lose weight too. Or if you wanna talk PM me :)

Style, check out the store she suggested as well. I'm not a huge style person but I do shop at American Eagle (won't have exactly the style shirts but their clothes make everyone feel comfortable) and Delias. Delais carrys the tees from the pictures. Love their clothes. I always feel good wearing them.

Hair, I starting highlighting my hair 7 years ago when I was in 5th grade. I don't know why I did but having black hair I guess made me want to change it? Anyway, I would get the highlights covered over and rehighlighted every 6 months for about 4 years. Then I stopped. It was killing my hair not to meantion getting expensive. Plus I was getting tired of the color as I wanted my black hair back. So now, 3 years later, I have finally gotten the last of the color cut out without drastically cutting my hair. I had it covered twice with my natural jet black color but somehow it always came through. And finally my hairs texture is back to normal. So basically what I am saying is if it's something you really want and your parents approve make sure you go somewhere well trusted and take care of your hair afterwards. I went to a local small chain for a year and they would screw it up so finally I went to Mario Truchi (spelling?) and they do a wonderful job but it's pricy.

Good luck!

Good luck! I know your cousin is a stylist, but be careful with those things! I've had countless friends try to dye their hair blonde and it came out yellow/green. Like a tennis ball.

I hope we get some pictures! :)

i have been working out lately and i like running on the treadmill. great way to lose weight. make sure you eat something before you work out, something like a banana.

i love to eat grilled chicken sandwiches (go for wheat bread), subway (i get the healthier sandwiches with less calories, i sometimes eat the chips later on as a snack instead of with the meal, & i get sunchips). and i avoid mayo (lots of fat) and go for mustard.

and only eat when your hungry, like stomach growling hungry.
