Hi everyone

just back from a 3 days, 2 nights stay at the explorer.
We travelled by car .
I 'm using to stay at the DL hotel castle club, so this is a change for me.......
But my kids loved it so much, they do not want to stay anymore at the dineyland hotel

Explorer is great and very very close to the disney hotel ( it's located just next to Santa hotel)
the shuttles are convenient, but we use our own car to commute to the parks and disneyvillage at night.

the lobby is amazing : a big pirate boat, games, gym for kids, indoor playgroung and the absolute must : the greatest pool of disneyland : 1 very long slide, a smaller but very fun and a boat in the pool where children could play with water, pool for kiddies
we spent a lot of times in the hotel
the price is nicer than disneylandhotel
foodcourt is nice as well
reception staff very helpfull and nice , room not so bad
so great experience for us.

Our visits to the parks were nice as well, large crowds but manageable!
we did Nemo first thing in the morning and had a 5 min wait, but rest of th day was more than 90 min!!!!

the tower of terror is really frightening! the big drops were too much for me and my kids ( 5 et 7), we did not enjoyed it so much
but they enjoyed aerosmith roller coaster, they were tall enought to ride it!

as usual a lot of rellay rude people literally pushed and walked on my children!

have a nice day
isabelle

Thanks for that post Isabelle -

I'm taking my daughter to the Explorers for the first time this June - she's really really looking forward to it - more than the parks I think!

Glad you had a great time, Isabelle, we always enjoy our stay at the Explorers although I would like to stay at the Disneyland Hotel one day!!

Your children are much braver than me ~ you won't get me on anything that turns me upside down  although I'll happily ride the Tower of Terror!!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the Explorer. Proves that you can have just as much fun off-site as staying in a Disney hotel :goodvibes

Now I'm worried about ToT since my DD enjoys coasters and we had to take it in turns going on RnR :)

It sounds like you had a fun trip.

I will probably be flamed for this, but we stayed in the Explorers in January and hated it. I admit that we always stay at a Disney Hotel and enjoy being within walking distance of the parks, and reading these boards I guess we were just unlucky, but it certainly put me off staying offsite and I will NEVER do it again. We found the rooms tiny and none too clean, the staff were not at all helpful and quite miserable, the display holders for park maps were almost empty and were not filled at all whilst we were there, the pool I cannot commnt on as it was closed most of the time that we were there. The breakfast was very nice. We went at the end of January and there were still Christmas decorations up which I think shows quite a bit of apathy!!! And don't get me started on the bu serice!!!
That said I seem to be in the very smal minority as most people on these boards semm to love this hotel. Just unlucky I guess:confused3

I'm so sorry you did not enjoyed so much your stay at the travelers hotel :-(

It's true that it's very nice to be located just next to the entry of disneyland, but if you are travelling from sequoia lodge or my travel explorer, the ride to the entrance of the park is the same : 5-10 min

what I found nice is that there are children activities in the middle of the food court and that is missing in all of Disney hotels :)

Big Hello to everyone as this is my first post.
I've been to Disneyland Paris 3 times now, all in December. Each time we've stayed at The Explorers hotel as my children have always loved it so much that they've only wanted to stay in that one. There's something about the pirate ship that's kept them entertained for hours each time - making new friends within minutes!
Really sorry to hear that Tinkerbell had such a disappointing stay. We found the staff extremely helpful and they were great sorting out a taxi for me when I needed to get some medicine from a nearby chemist. My children loved the pool and it made a great calming break from the intensity of the park.
We've never had any trouble with the shuttle buses but maybe it's because we went in term time when things were a bit quieter - there always seemed to be one just arriving in a few minutes when you needed it.

Good to meet everyone, I'm sure I'm going to be spending many hours here as like everyone else I just lovvvve Disney:cheer2:
