My son's going to MIT

Well...................... not as a student but he was just offered a position in the Sports Information Department. It's an entry level position in a field which is extemely hard to break into. Hopefully it will open the door to future opportunities in the sports media field. We are so proud of our MIT son!

MIT sponsors 41 varsity sports- tying for the most intercollegiate offerings of any college in America. They are third in the list of Academic All Americans with 122 to date.

MIT has won 8 national team championships in its history.

18 graduates have participated in the Olympic Games, winning two gold and two silver medals.

In 2005, the Engineers boasted three individual champions for the first time in one academic year, while MIT also secured an institute - record 33 All- America honors.

YES .. they do play sports at MIT but the beauty of it is... there are no "DUMB JOCKS".

Back years ago, I visited a friend who went to MIT. Back then 15 years ago, it was all about gaming on a network of PCs with others in the room/elsewhere. (back in 1990 I guess it was the internet!)


Anyway, the MIT campus is gorgeous. I had a great time there. I'm sure your son will have a great time in his new position.

Sorry for highjacking this thread but those are called LAN parties! Sorry but I have a S who wants to be an engineer. I had no idea what they were until we started visiting engineering schools.
