My DS(3) wants to eat w/ Mickey. I don't want to do a character breakfast because we are staying club level & we'll just grab breakfast there. What restaurants have character dining w/ Mickey. We've done Garden Grill & we loved it but we want to try something else. I've seen mixed revies about Chef Mickey's. So what do you think? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

The only places I can think of for dinner are Chef Mickey's and Garden Grill. I know Mickey is at the Tusker House and I think O'hana too, but those are both breakfasts.

I think you've got the Mickey dinners covered unless you wanted to do the Mickey's Backyard BBQ depending on when you're going...it's seasonal and only offered Thursdays and Saturdays I believe!

I know you said you don't want a breakfast because you're staying CL and get breakfast there but I'm going to suggest breakfast anyway. When we stay CL, we like to book a last breakfast seating at character breakfasts. It's more of a brunch than a breakfast as it's several hours after we've eating our light CL breakfast.

We love Chef Mickey's for dinner. Haven't had a bad meal there.

I would go for this if he wants to eat with Mickey.

I personally dont think the food at chef mickeys is all that great. But the characters are AWESOME!!!!!!! Go for it! Chef Mickeys is your only option, other than Backyard BBQ and Garden Grill.

My son have his 2nd birthday at Chef Mickey we loved it! lots of food as it buffet and everyone was really friendly the chef as well. He met with us due to the fact my son has allergies....We give it a thumbs up!:cool1:

I agree with this post. I personally love breakfast foods and knowing that the CL lounges at Disney don't really offer any of those types of food (they have pastries and breads and oatmeal and fruit and stuff but don't have eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, etc.) we still ended up booking 3 breakfasts for our upcoming trip and have most of them scheduled later in the morning. This will give us a chance to have something light in the morning to hold us over until our "brunch" time ADR. It is something to consider.

Another vote for Chef Mickey's either breakfast or dinner. Your DS will love the character interaction. We also have done Ohana for breakfast and the food was excellent and both my boys loved the characters. Good luck and have fun.

my family eats a big, early breakfast. Our last meal at Disney is a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's. The last two trips we have had an 11:25 and 11:15 ADRs. We previously had ADRs around 10:00. In my view view the later ADRs came with a less crowded, noisy meal and better character interaction. It may be that I have learned which food items I like and choose only those, but I was more pleased with the food this past time compared to previous times.

I also agree with the post. I'd still try and book a late breakfast....i'd also recommend Ohana. Mickey was great, we saw him twice during one trip!! Food is simple but quite tasty. My fave is the juice & pineapple bread. Atmosphere is quite nice too. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We've never had a problem with Chef Mickey's and always go for dinner. Our kids absolutely love it. That's the only place you can see Mickey and his whole gang -- I say book it!

Picture of my kids with Mickey at Chef Mickeys this past May 28th. We'd never been, were a little nervous because of reviews. We thought it was fine. My son is GF and they were very good with that. It's your typical buffet.

We thought it was a great character experience

I would give Chef Mickey's a try. The food is not that great, but the character interaction is - you get to see the whole Fab 5 - and kids will love the experience, which is probably what's most important. We prefer Garden Grill for the food, though.

Thanks everyone. We have decided to book Chef Mickeys for dinner. My priority is DS :wizard:seeing Mickey. Plus he keeps telling me that he wants to take his grandmother to see Donald Duck. So we can take care of both his wishes at the same place. The smile on his face will make up for "okay" food.

I liked my dinner at Chef Mickey's. More then breakfast actually. Garden Grill is okay, but I find the menu there rather boring. The only other two meals I know of are the ones PP mentioned, Tusker House and Ohana, but they are both really good breakfasts.
