My older son will turn 6 next week. We were in my room last night and he caught a glmpse of one of his presents--a big bin of legos. I hurried him out and told him he was dreaming :rotfl: (he was supposed to be in bed). I kept telling him to go back to bed and he kept insisting that he saw legos and wanted to show me. Well I moved them but he kept trying to sneak past me to get to my room to see them. Finally after about 10 minutes, he did end up sneaking past me and came back to me saying (giggling) "Hey mom, I know you moved the legos because I found a clue." So I had to see what the clue was. He took me to where they were and saw that there was a mark in the carpet from the box. So there you have it. I'm not as smart as a 6-year-old. Next time I'll have to make sure to rid the scene of all clues. :rotfl2:

lol...if you really wanted to outsmart him, you could always give him other gifts first to completley confuse him...or empty the box out and fill it with paper or something and send him on a hunt round the house for it!

My 6 year old daughter is a sleuth, too. I guess there was some Easter Bunny talk at school, and she asked me if he and Santa and the Tooth Fairy are real. I said I think so because they keep coming. She closely inspected the Easter bunny that was dressed up at the supermarket, and I confirmed for her that it was just a person dressed up. She also went through the trash yesterady and pulled out a tag she found there. I confirmed it came from her sister's shoes, and that I had taken it off. (The real trash was already outside in the bin). :confused3

I have been challenged by getting a child whose wheels are always turning. She has already asked about the birds and the bees, right down to the last question. I am not so sure how long I will be able to keep up with her.

I can relate. My ds is almost 5 and he already told me that the EB at themall was a person because he could see their face through the mouth. He told me at an earlier visit this year to the EB that he was a person as well because he saw his arm. I told him maybe the Bunny had a bald spot. Not everyone has all their hair. That seemed to work at the time. He told me when he was 3 that the characters at WDW are all people dressed up. Of course I told him that I don't think that's true. He insisted but let it drop. He doesn't say too much about it now. We do tell him that if he does think somehting isn't right to please whisper it to us because it might upset other kids. He is pretty good about it. It is killing me that we only have very little time left of this magic with him. Santa we are okay with so far because the ones here have actual beards and body type as Santa. Thank goodness!princess:
